This is not news. There are many elite players that have contracts that ensure they are the highest paid on the team. I'm forgetting right now, but I think Tom Brady is one.

Hard to feel sorry for ball players getting paid millions of bucks and whining about how their contact is unfair.
He could always not sign and take his chances on the market, so maybe he should do that.
