All it takes is a large metropolitan area to influence the laws all over the state (Atlanta!). If you think upstate/western NY is anything like New York City, you are mistaken. Outside the urban areas this state is quite conservative. Doesn’t matter. The communists infesting NYC make it impossible for the rest of us to live as we want.

It can, and likely will, happen to GA too, as the demographics change. Hint: they are not changing in our favor. I didn’t say it was happening next week but check back in a decade or two.

There are not enough people in Atlanta or the few surrounding metro counties to do what you say. I know the influence of NYC and Buffalo etc has on state politics, but there are still just too many other counties and people that aren’t associated with that. NYC is a foreign country and nearly responsible for the entire state’s woes. They can’t pack 7-10 million in Atlanta - EVER.

Atlanta, because it is so corrupt can’t even attract any new residents but the stupid and gullible and they quickly learn.

The truth is there are more in the surrounding non-Atlanta Metro counties, even if they are mostly out-of-staters, and they never vote the same way as Atlanta Citizens. The liberal block is DeKalb and Fulton and some parts of other surrounding counties but not many. Macon, Columbus etc are liberal but won’t outnumber non-urban city counties.

Georgia is never going to be like your New York. Your one big city is responsible for it all.
