Moveon.org Starts Petition for Civil Rights Charges Against George Zimmerman

Moveon.org has started an internet petition to encourage the Department of Just Us to bring civil rights charges against George Zimmerman. The petition comes in the aftermath of his acquittal by a jury of six in Seminole County, FL just last night.

In the lead up to the original Florida charges against Zimmerman, over 2 million people signed an internet petition to bring murder charges against him. Mob justice in action, it seems.

I have not included the link because when I try to put it in, FR says Moveon.org links are not allowed at FR.

I still can’t believe that the stupid HOA paid Sybrina Fulton - who didn’t even raise Trayvon, and Crips punk Tracy Martin a MILLION DOLLARS because their feral son got shot during an assault. Idiots.

I read they they can’t bring civil rights charges against an individual, only government officials. Thus they could charge police officers in the Rodney King case, (half of whom were acquitted anyway), but they can’t charge Zimmerman because he didn’t act on behalf of the government.

I also read that you can’t file a civil suit in the state of Florida when someone is acquitted in a murder trial.

If both are true, then Double Jeopardy in this case is dead.

How about malicious prosecution against Angela Corey?

No racial bias proven, no case for federal intervention. End of story.

Zimmerman has a case for malicious prosecution. Also against the TV channel that edited a tape to make him look like a racist. I hope he sues big time.

All this according to various attorneys who offered opinions last night.

I have a question that I have been wanting to ask for a long time: Where are the Hispanics for George Zimmerman? Are there any supporting him? I haven’t heard a single voice of support.

In yesterday’s post-verdict presser, Mark O’Mara stated GZ would be invoking “Civil Immunity” for any civil suit brought against GZ. Civil immunity means the LOSER pays.

I guess Soros hasn’t told them to “moveon”.

Seriously the acquittal was the best outcome for these tard organizations. They will beat the drums for more outrage - and more money - indefinitely over this. The direct mail appeals and robocalls will turn into an avalanche. (There are too many low info types who will mistake that avalanche for actual public opinion.)

I figure there are two possibilities. Either 1) they are speaking out, but since it doesn't fit the media narrative, they aren't getting any airtime, or 2) they are putting politics above race for this one, for their own "greater leftist good".

Well hell, if we can prosecute people for crimes simply by a majority of people signing a petition, I’ll put my name at the top of the petition demanding Obama be charged with the murders of the Benghazi four.

The president could order them to find some hitherto “overlooked evidence”.
I would put nothing past this regime.

Even the conservative media has not been reporting Hispanic support for Zimmerman, so I don’t think it is simply the media narrative quashing the story. I am afraid you are right about the second explanation: leftist and Democrat politics over race.

I wonder what their reaction would have been if whites had started a similar petition when OJ was acquitted.

Or maybe start a White House Petition requesting that Obama apologize to George Zimmerman for interfering in the judicial process, and needlessly fanning racial division in America.

Not true. It was done with the murderer of Meir Kahane and the murderers in Crown Heights in the early 90s.

“Why hasn’t the KKK been indicted, or the black panthers, or Farrakan, or Sharpton, or Jackson?”

Exactly. Interestingly, race was always a target of those foreign enemies that wanted to find ways to bring down the US. It was an easy target for them, given our open society and diversity of our populace.

It will happen. The Feds will charge him...to the extent that a conviction can earn GZ life.Beating the FL charges will be a piece of cake compared to fighting the Federal charges.Saint Trayvon’s DC “dad” will demand that millions and millions be spent to convict...spent in the courtroom *and* outside.
