Not only that, if you have the zipcode 00666, you are eternally damned as well!

I find it strange that Washington state is run by the feminazis, yet the projected lifespan for males and females is the same in the Puget Sound area.

Thanks but no thanks, to moving to inner urban area so my lifespan "might" increase!

I'm counting on safer suburbs with concealed carry "rights" on helping out my longevity status.

We also have very good emergency services, access to quality docs and topnotch police/firefighter folk to insure helping overall environment of longevity status!

Just looking the counties that they looked at is telling. In the ‘positive’ side are major metro areas with lots of hospitals and docs and health care. These areas also have many choices for grocery shopping. Overall these areas are populated by better educated people with larger incomes thus allowing them the ability to live longer. The low end counties are truly out in the boonies. Getting medical help or even groceries is an activity that must be planned on. The ERs are not just around the corner. Many of these counties have no 24 hour stores available. And the folks living in these counties are ordinary people (many of who, are farmers) just trying to live life day to day.

Being in the boonies myself I will take that over the insanity of those large metro areas

Coorelation is not causation. Granted. But there must be a reason. If you did identical plots for white and black population separately, I bet there would be far less regional disparity. The disparity is probably more related to race than locale. The other interesting thing is that three of the counties with the highest *increase* in longevity are all in New York City. New York’s five boroughs are each a county in the state. Borough = County:

Manhattan = New York County
Brooklyn = Kings County
The Bronx = Bronx County
Queens = Queens County
Staten Island = Richmond Count.

The time period included Rudy Juliani’s successful effort to rein in the Dinkins Crime Wave. New York courts appear determined to revive the good old days of David Dinkins.

So like a gal in her 50’s moves to a good zip code she’ll live longer? Or maybe if she’s in her 80’s she’ll live to be 110???

Exactly. Looking at anything will allow a pattern to develop, regardless of how random it may be. It doesn't mean it is statistically relevant.

This has as much logic behind it as the standby amount for content insurance on your homeowner's policy. I was told by my agent to use 30% of my home's value for a base in determining content value. So, with that logic in mind, when I moved from a $200k home to a $400k home, my crap doubled in value?!?!? Whatever...
