(From the article):

"Tebow developed a close bond with Hernandez early in his career with the Gators, hosting Hernandez during his official visit before signing to play for the Gators."

Too bad none of Tebow good sense and faith rubbed off on the thug.

I'm wondering if part of the reason the Patriots picked up Tebow was to have Tebow to try and have a good influence on Hernandez.

I know TT was signed as a quarterback. But there’s speculation he might play at tight end. That would be quite an irony if he does play at Hernandez’s TE position...

Thugs are like that. No matter what environment you put them in, they're still thugs. An excellent example is one who is temporarily living at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Nice house in an expensive!! neighborhood, but he is still just a thug.

Tebow arrived in New England too late.

Close, but no.

The reason the Pats picked up Tebow was because they knew Hernandez was a personnel time-bomb and with their offense, if they wanted to go to the 2014 Super Bowl they needed another TE like right now. Only now, a couple of weeks later, do they know how prescient that decision was.

Also having a guy who can run the scout team to prepare for Washington, Seattle and SF is another reason.

Oh yeah one other thing... Tebow's ganged up too, but it's a different gang... one that tends to stay out of trouble. Gotta give him credit for that...

Pretty savvy consideration. Perhaps.

But as a quirk of providential fate, ironically now Tebow may be converted to tight-end/3rd QB. Belicheck and his staff have always thought outside the box.
