Ya’ dun’ good.
I’m currently attempting a thru hike to Canada, by way of the Pacific Crest Trail (2,650 miles).
I incurred a somewhat serious injury needing attention... that being said, I’m on the mends and will be back on the trail within a week.
I bagged 210 miles since leaving the US-Mexico border. Last year I managed to hike 776.4 miles, reaching the high sierras with a side trip up to the top of Mt. Whitney (14,505’). I’m way behind the herd and will likely bounce forward enough to give myself a fighting chance to reach the border sometime in October, hopefully before the snow flies. Lastly I’ll flip flop south and snag the southern located sections of the trail that I’ve bypassed.
It’s easily one of the most difficult things I’ve ever done, yet one that is also profoundly gratifying.
Rainbows, unicorns and butterflies aside, I’ll sum up the experience in five words: work, work, work, work, work.
You’ll be coming by here this summer. When you get to the Trinity Alps say high. I’ll be listening.
