Webpages that accessed on my computer are opening up on my cell phone. Strange.

Has anybody experienced this lately? I will go to a webpage on my office computer then later during the day that very same page will open up on my cellphone in Safari. Mind you I didn't visit that web page on my cell phone at all and didn't sync it with my computer either. I'm wondering if someone has hacked my work computer, is capturing the webpage addresses then has my cellphone number and access to the account to make it open up on my cellphone remotely. I know how part of that could be done but it would take access to systems within the phone system to do so, sort of like NSA level access. Has never happened before. Just want to see if anyone else has experienced the same lately to see if someone is playing games.

On the computer. Weird, huh? I asked a computer security guy here on FreeRepublic about it and he said that they were very sloppy and that if he had been doing the snooping, we would never have known about it.

I am also experiencing my computer coming on at night by itself and sometimes when I come in from work my computer is on.

I shaved twice before dawn. My cigarette lighter never works.

I do not need any more cotton candy.

Now you’ve really got the intrigue going.
If “they” were doing this remotely how did you hear them? Remote access wouldn’t require vocal commands, only code.

Yes updates, that is what I originally thought was happening, until my husband actually heard them over the computer speakers.

I don’t know, my husband just asked me in the morning if I had left the computer on. It was upstairs in a sort of loft library, I said that I didn’t know whether I had left it on and he said that he could hear people talking on it, that some guy said, I guess that we had better take a copy of this one, too and that was all he heard. He didn’t bother to get out of bed. I was scared that someone might have actually been in the house.

I'll be bringing the bacon-wrapped pork medallions.

Wow! I’ve never heard of such a thing—other than Skype or something. Conversation audio playing through the computer... very strange!

Maybe, it wasn’t, maybe there was really someone in the house.

My husband never takes these things seriously, so he just didn’t do anything when he heard it.

The IT guy at his office told us that we had 5 people logging onto our computer every single time we got on the internet, but he couldn’t tell who it was.

It probably is true. I had a person show me from her location that she could take over my computer years ago. Scary.

I asked a techie once about that and he said they could trace them.

LOL. When one of my dogs was a puppy and was at my handlers; she used to hit the recall button on the phone. When the person answered; all they heard was breathing. He thought my handler was playing tricks; so he called him. My handler said no one was home so he went to find out. There was my pup hitting that recall button. You have to remove anything electronic out of reach. She just loves that stuff.

A couple of months ago, I got satellite internet. It is the only thing available out here except dial-up.

The device which receives the signal and then routes it to my computer has little blue lights which show when data is being sent or received. It is actually right beside my bed.

I have noticed that often in the middle of the night when my computers are turned off, that I sometimes see both the send and receive lights blink for a few seconds.

I suspect that maybe the guy could but didn’t want to because it was our home computer.
