A Florida man wanted to steal himself a vehicle, so he decided to flag down the first car that came his way so he could carjack it. A woman driving down 50th Avenue in Escambia County slowed down when she spotted the man waving her down, pretending he needed help.
When she stopped, the man pulled out a gun and demanded she get out.
She did.
He hopped in the car.
And then his grand criminal plan was foiled when he noticed the car was stick shift, because he apparently drive stick.
So it was time to switch to Plan B: RUN AWAY! According to the Escambia County Sheriff's Office's Facebook, Antoren "Chief Keef" Bell, 19, fled on foot from the vehicle when he discovered that it was a stick shift.
The victim helped police ID Bell through a lineup, and he was arrested on Friday.
The incident happened back in May.
Bell has been charged with theft, robbery and criminal mischief. He was being held on $400,000 bond.
Would have likely been a Chrysler product.
I learned to drive on a three on the tree old Dodge van my Dad had. Thing backfired so bad it shot a foot of flame out the tailpipe. Quite exciting.
The new 2013 Lincoln MKZ features a push buttons on the dash for the automatic shifter!

I have newer Honda Civic stick-shift (that’s not me in the picture). When I bought my stick-shift car 2 years ago the car salesman ask WTH I’d still be buying stick nowadays too much L.A. traffic. Oh well my 10 gallon 89-gas (not full tank yet) can get to 400+ miles city+highway), how about that?
I drive a 5 speed on the floor and love it! I consider that since most thugs don’t know how to drive them it’s a bonus security system.
I wouldn't drive in LA traffic but got this one when I had a Volks Rabbit stick, was in the middle lane in Chgo freeway and the engine quit with a semi on my tail on the right lane i needed to exit. I got rid of that car, was just a lemon.
My Honda has not been trouble-free, but I have kept it well maintained except I should have had it rust proofed when I bought it used. It's still under 100,000 mi because I don't drive much.
I drive more or less 40 miles daily except Sunday (that’s round trip home to work) so I got economical and reliable stick-shift car as workday vehicle. :-)
It needs an adjustment or I do because it's easier to stall when starting in low gear, have to gun it a little extra. Otherwise my biggest problem is I keep getting a dead battery because I don't go out for several days at a time.
The other night I was at the grocery store and forgot to turn off my lights, chronic with me. Got my groceries, car won't start. I did it again. So the space is free in front, a car pulls in beside me and I ask him if he can give me a jump start. He said he didn't have any cables. I said I do. So he got off his cell phone call and pulled around.
He couldn't remember how to configure them. I said I thought it was negative me negative you, positive you, ground me, not quite but close. It didn't work. Some younger guy came over and got them on right. Positive me, positive you, negative you, ground me. I think that's the right way.
I don't know if I should, I don't think about what I'm doing, but in city traffic I often find myself bringing it from 4th gear in a semicircular motion into 2nd (from the right leg of the H to the left leg of the H) when I turn a corner or don't have to come to a full stop.
Cars are soooo expensive now. I don't know what I'll do if something happens to mine. I'm real protective of it.
I don't know if I can revive the ac or not, gone without it for years. I'd really like to get it fixed if it can be without spending too much. It drags on the engine but there are times it would be worth it.
Dodge Dart...my sister had one as her first car.
At one time I owned ,and drove depending on the need, a 3 on the tree Dodge pickup,a Fiat 128,and an Opel GT 5 ;all sticks with different patterns-and then there were the two farm tractors with yet more variations.
Heck,we even had a manual TV channel knob!!!
I don't agree with that...That takes away any motivation to leave the victim alive...
