My problem with Fords has been they do not have the same backwards/forwards compatibility that older chevys do.
They are not intrinsically worse, but compatibility is an issue.
You can hook almost any Chevy motor from the 60’s thru the 90’s up to any tranny- straight 6, 4.3 v-6, small block, big block, etc.
Steering gears, all sorts of stuff. Thats why I landed Chevrolet.
Understood. One Ford, three Chevy(s) here mostly for that reason.
The current 4.8,5.3,6.0 shares the same bell housing as the small block from the 60’s if I remember right.
