I am of the mind that ‘they’ can manufacture a credible trail using the programs they already have in place. Moving bytes of data around could be untraceable, could be criminally executed without a way to prove otherwise.

Meant to add, and how they threaten certain populations living in certain areas?

Most likely why many were shocked that Obama won...he didn’t win at all.

Hell, Clinton used the NSA. Why on earth wouldn't Obama?

Anyone remember Newt's phone calls being recorded? Anyone who believed that story about the old couple with the recording device is pretty gullible. They were used to launder the information.

We know this from the IRS, ATF and other scandals:

If a government resource can be misused for Obama’s political advantage, it will be.

Wasn’t “the cleaner” John Brennan working there in Obama’s first term?

I worked in the telecom sector for over 30 years. In that time I learned about all of the allowances we were required to make to allow the government and LEOs to access whatever communication was being transmitted over the equipment my employers manufactured. And, this is not new, it has been available for decades.

What has changed is the fact that, thanks to Bush 43s Patriot Act, the feds have been able to access any/all methods of communication at will without requiring either a search warrant or approval of a judge (violation of the 4th Amendment). When Bush signed the Pariot Act, we were assured that it would be used only to locate, track and arrest terrorists. But, in the interim, look who have been defined as “terrorists”: veterans, Christians, conservatives, etc. And, despite their claims, look who went unobserved - the Boston bombers.

So, we don’t have an issue, per se, with the NSA. We have companies like Google and Facebook that have been willingly cooperating with the feds (and the Chinese) to feed them information on what types of information Internet users are seeking and what kinds of things people are posting.

All of this information about the government getting information about us has been available for years and has even been posted here at FR. So, the fact that you are troubled by it is a little like closing the corral after the horse has gotten out. All Snowden did was shine a light on a fire and bring the NSA to the forefront of the public’s attention. But, the rustlers have been stealing the horses for a very long time.

When the Patriot Act was passed, a lot of people expressed concern that it could be turned against ordinary citizens. But, Bush and the Congress that passed it assured us that would never happen. Well, welcome to NeverLand!

So, if you want to be mad at someone, start at your congresscritters that passed and renewed the Patriot Act. Tell the Congress that our 4th Amendment rights are being violated by a government that spies on US without probable cause and treats us like the enemy that zero is cuddling up to.

That’s where your battle is, it’s not with me. I’m just telling you how it is.

BTW, TruetheVote.com was one of the organizations being harrassed by the IRS because they were the ones reporting on the precincts that recorded as much as 140% of registered voters in certain, targeted counties. And, of that 140%, ~99% voted for Obama. The statistical probability of that occurrung is 0.000000000000000nil%!

My argument certainly is not with you. We’ve heard bits & pieces over the years, frequently dismissed as conspiracy theory by those in power. We have inappropriately trusted those who lead us to abide by the constitution. But it’s not just that there’s spying going on - what we believed was being used to detect terrorists. It is now most definitely being used for political purposes under this administration.

Do you think the Dems could legally get the data Steve King was told they had? I know nothing about telecom, but I would think that was only from hacking or some other illegal activity.

...and the underwear bomber...and the shoe bomber...and the Times Square bomber...and the thwarted NYC subway bomber plot...and Hassan. NSA stopped NONE of these. (can't think of any others right now)

You make accusations via assumption, like a leftists does. I did not say I was angry at you. I did not question the insidious nature of the spying on Americans as something that just began with little barry bastard boy. I did not enjoin a ‘battle’. I merely asked if you are aware of what the normalcy bias means and asked point blank if you believe there is no conspiracy to remove we the people sovereignty? Your comments seemed to indicate a tendency to ignore what the symptoms point to.

In 1993, the FBI was running a ‘sting operation’ on the blind sheik, helping to set up a group to bomb the WTC. At the last minute, the FBI pulled out their support by not providing an inert ‘explosive’ substance for the bomb manufacture. Obviously, the now operational sect found explosives and used them in just the way the FBI knew they were planning to use them. So it really doesn’t seem to make any difference if the unJustice department knows who the bombers/murderers are. The spying is designed to aid fedzilla in subduing the American people, not catch foreign enemies.

Why not the NSA?

These Depts were on the job, The IRS (Tea Party), EPA (Oil & Coal Industries) & FBI (Gibson Guitar & others).

I was wondering how the Dems and Rinos dug up dirt on the conservative candidates. Like how did they find Cain’s nasty mistress?

We know that the IRS helped throw the election to Obama and the Senate to the Dems by disabling conservative election donation and spending and I would bet the DOD, VA, AMKGB and DOJ did the same. The DOD has been harassing and harming politically incorrect Christians and politically and socially censoring soldiers, not letting them vote, etc. in an effort to control like you would see from the Soviets or China. The VA is after politically incorrect Vets; looking for any excuse it can to disarm them and harm them as they are named by the communists as domestic terrorists.

The whole police state has the machinery of power and money to dig and disseminate dirt on conservatives (true or not) who the DHS has classified as domestic terrorists. Likewise, they have to power to hide dirt on communists so they can not be exposed.

Who disappears damaging websites and documents from
the Internet forcing us to take screen shots because
we know the information is likely to be deleted?

Who puts viruses on conservative sites critical of Dear Reader? We know they are obstructing reporters. They are threatening them with prosecution for the “crime” of political incorrectness as well.

We know IRS slimy commies threw the election as best they could and I have no doubt they are all involved in the same efforts to keep a “domestic terrorist” out of the White Hut and Congress. The government “war on terror” is a war, not on jihadists nor gang drug lords, but against politically incorrect Americans. It is documented everywhere by DHS.

Any globalist/communist/homo/Islamic agent can operate to ruin any conservative since no warrant and no American legal constraints nor loyalty, honor and ethics is necessary.

Marxists reject the guilt and shame that instinctively warn human beings to stop. They name human conscience, religion, naming it “religion”, and this is why they can murder and demonize the innocent, in the millions, without a doubt. In fact, anyone with spy access around the world (and activist commie google or facebook and radicals in other spy corporations or govs.) can work to sink any political speech/agenda they desire.

Sorry I bothered to reply if that’s all you got out of it.

I made no accusations or assumptions, but, since everyone on FR who knows me so well accuses me of being a liberal, I must be.

Thanks for the discussion.

NSA stopped NONE of these.

That's not their charter and most of those folks predate a lot of the spying currently being attributed to the NSA. Most of the spying is being done by the FBI, the CIA, the Stryker Brigade and others.

Do you think the Dems could legally get the data Steve King was told they had? I know nothing about telecom, but I would think that was only from hacking or some other illegal activity.

Doubtless there was a little wink-wink, nod-nod going on for the Dems to get the info, but they probably didn't have to hack anything. Both Google's and Facebook's founders are known liberals and would have provided the info to them at the drop of a hat.

And, the iron curtain that is supposed to exist that prevents federal agencies from sharing information is more like a curtain of air. All the Dems had to do was ask the FBI or the NSA for it and they would have gotten it under the table. That's just speculation on my part and proving it would be very difficult, but I don't think they would have had to engage in any complex operations to get their info.

The Internet is a notorious sieve of information and anyone who has the tools and knows where to look can find whatever they want. It just isn't that hard.

This is going to be like campaigning in 1936 Germany, and we damn well be ready for it.

And all of us need to come to grips with everything we have stated or written in the past. Do not let them use it to blackmail you.
