The Reset Button

The Reset Button

We all know that – within the next decade or so – we’re going to have some sort of “Reset” within our society. Most of us hope it will be peaceful but we’re mindful that history indicatest it will be anything but peaceful. Our next hope is that whatever violence occurs will be contained in local, relatively minor conflicts, preferably someplace else. In either case and regardless of which side “wins”, the “Reset” will be catastrophic in its own right. At this point we believe that the conflict – whether violent or not – will be between liberal and conservative elements. Whichever side wins there will be die-hard idealists among the “losers” that will never accept the new administration however well it is painted by the “winners.”

What to do about them?

Well, in the past, the Turks marched them to death, Stalin starved them to death, Hitler gassed them to death, Pol Pot shot them to death, in Africa they were shot, starved, hacked to death with machetes and/or sold into slavery. Not to overlook an earlier example; here in America the aboriginal natives were shot, starved, infected and marched to death.

While we can engage our imaginations as to what would happen to us if we lost the coming war (and that’s what it will be), it would be a proper exercise for us to individually and collectively consider what we will do if we win.

I such were to happen would we – would YOU – be comfortable with rounding up all the liberals in your neighborhood and shipping them off to some other country? What if there was no other country willing to accept them? Germany had a great exodus of Jews during the early 1930s but we’re all familiar with what eventually happened. I’m pretty sure most people would do anything they could to keep such a thing from happening again.

Knowing as we do about the way liberals work, we would have to devise a way to keep them from infecting our children with their low-key poison so a new “Reset” wouldn’t be required every twenty years or so. But then we have Thomas Jefferson’s famous quote about: "What country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure." (in a letter to W. S. Smith, 13 Nov. 1787).

I must confess I do not know what to do. In my more frustrated moments I can easily say ALL liberals need to be eliminated. Then I remember my friends and relatives who are liberal and cringe at the thought of them tasting the fruit of my earlier anger. Surely some of those “liberals” who have graduated to the ranks of Communists deserve a death penalty. We all know the names of some of them in high offices but what about the first-grade teacher at the local school? Or the Pastor at the Church who preaches sermons on love and peaceful coexistence? The police officer who got off with no penalty after beating an old man to death is a no-brainer but how about the one who tried to revive the victim?

Folks, what I’m trying to do here is get everyone to plan ahead. Be careful what you pray for – you might get it.

I've been giving this a lot of though lately. Perhaps we all need to consider the darker side of "winning."

If we win, I’m afraid I’ll have to stand on the sidelines...because my thoughts right now are not nice.

Not nice at all.

No problem for most ideologies, but a real problem for American conservatives.

Our system is based on “government of the people, by the people, and for the people.” What you are talking about means we would “save” America by destroying what America stands for.

Is “winning” even possible, given such alternatives? Do we designate some as “enemies of the people,” and exclude them from the benefits of citizenship?

There is a precedent for doing so, provided by the Founders themselves. Look up how Loyalists were treated during and after the Revolution by the winners.

I'm pretty much on board with the scheme described in "Tales of New America", posted on the Bastion of Liberty blog here, but soon to be a book.

A breakaway region of America comes to power through oil money, then invades liberal states and cities, takes out the ghetto criminals, rounds up the liberals and tells them to either leave now, or you will be shipped to a relocation camp. And you will never be able to vote ever again.

Everything is done with kindness, and nobody is harmed permanently unless they attack the invading force (which the libs don't do). But they are not allowed power in society ever again, and their kids have to attend education on the Constitution, Christianity, and the (actually old) order of society.

If the conservatives win then that means no more freebies from the government.

Maybe they'll just self-deport if the choice is between staying and getting a job, or leaving and getting put on the dole somewhere else.

That is the problem with war. Whatever benevolent thoughts you may take pride in now, know this: if you are (un)fortunate enough to survive you will witness atrocities that will blow whatever benevolent intent you told yourself of away like chaff. In the words of Arlo Guthrie, you will want to chew dead bodies and pick you teeth with their bones.

“I’ve been giving this a lot of though lately. Perhaps we all need to consider the darker side of “winning.””

Whatever the response is, it needs to reflect the cause. If they become terrorists then there are laws to deal with that. Anything the losing side does is covered by our current laws. The winners simply impose the penalties currently in place. For example, the nun who broke into a classified, highly guarded nuclear site went to prison. The rioters who smashed windows at every meeting of the G8 were arrested. (I presume they were prosecuted, but don’t know for sure.) I’m not concerned with the darker side of winning. Eco-terrorists are busy right now sabotaging logging roads with tire-puncture devices. If they get caught they can go to prison. (They never get caught. Likewise, the arsonists who burned the housing development out west and destroyed the Hummer dealerships has never been caught; despite bragging online. Frankly, I don’t thing the FBI is even looking for him.) Presumably, the FBI and Justice department would again be defending the United States rather than illegals and Occupy people.

You know Arlo Guthrie is an old fart libertarian now, chasing kids off his lawn in Stockbridge and supporting Ron Paul for President in 2008. (Really!)

How about we put our fate in God’s hands and let Him deal with the problem. (no offense to the folks here who don’t believe)?

You raise an interesting question. Thanks.

Using the early history of our Colonial settlements, the settlers who refused to work starved to death.

When the Federal “Safety Net” is eliminated suddenly by Financial Market forces, what % of the 47 % who are dependent on the Federal Safety Net will work to support themselves?

Will the alien illegal invaders from Mexico be driven back into Mexico by the US Military, or by starving Legal Americans?

Liberals are basically parasites on those who work.

Without Federal Aid to Education, professors who are “pointy-headed, pseudo-intellectuals, who can’t even park a bicycle straight” will have to choose between righteous starvation, and actual work on a supply and demand pay scale.

>>How about we put our fate in God’s hands and let Him deal with the problem. (no offense to the folks here who don’t believe)?

This is why we will lose. We feel the need to add a disclaimer to everything! We apologize to everyone for everything until apologies are worthless. Other people in this thread are concerned about the dark side of winning. If this comes down to a violent “Reset” and, by some miracle, we aren’t the ones marching the Death March, we better be prepared to take the same to the enemy that we beat. Otherwise, we’ll have to do it again in a decade. And again. And again.

Personally, the 50/50 split in our country is proof that the masters in the shadows do not want a violent reset. They will just guide us into a steadily decreasing standard of living until they have us where they think we should be. Then, they’ll confiscate the wealth of those who were allowed to accumulate all the wealth during the decline and, voila, we are communist.

“If the conservatives win then that means no more freebies from the government”

Any government is three meals away from a revolution. This presents a problem.

Yeah, we need not trade in a left-wing oligarcy or dictatorship for a right wing one. WE could become the monsters we despise. Some of my ancestors were Russian Jews who suffered under the pogroms because of who they were and my grandfather went from Omaha Beach to the horrors of Buchenwald. Myself I would tend to favor more of a libertarian system like in L. Neil Smith's, ""Roswell Texas." but I digress. I see myself as a "right leaning libertarian." My opinion, I'd give the libs the corridor from Boston to DC and east of the Appalachians and perhaps the "left coast." They can have their "Obama Paradise" if they like and keep it as long as they don't threaten us. I favor a peaceful divide.

“I am persuaded that this is a righteous judgement of God on these barbarous wretches, who have imbrued their hands with so much innocent blood; and that it will tend to prevent the effusion of blood for the future, which are satisfactory grounds for such actions which cannot otherwise but work remorse and regret.”
- Oliver Cromwell, referring to the siege and subsequent massacre of Drogheda.

I agree with Cromwell.
