Idaho Professor To Hunt Bigfoot With Drones

Jeff Meldrum, an anthropologist at Idaho State University, is spending $200,000 to scan the Cascades with drones. The unmanned aircraft will use thermal imaging equipment to peer through thick forest in search of Sasquatch.

"We're simply asking a biological question: Is there a species of primate behind the legend of Sasquatch?" he said.

Other professors in the field have called any questions about Bigfoot a “waste of time.”

Actually they are using trail cams as well.

As to who is paying it is it least legitimate research looking for an animal that many people have seen but is unsubscribed by science. He isn’t trying to make your kids hate you, turn them into homosexuals or tell you who to vote for.

But drone IR data might locate grass patches. Just think of the ramifications of that amongst the Academented.

Well could be - and he might well be a fly fisherman with a propensity for using ‘garden hackle’.

If this guy, can’t find a good fishin’ spot, without a drone...I’ve got some bear bells to sell him.

Mark Ketchum has one of the largest collections of Bigfoot print cast there is. He also has a rather impressive collection of other physical evidence. He isn’t a nut or red-neck goofball like the four people on the “Finding-Bigfoot” TV show

Nobody tests turds? Scat would be enough proof, and bear scat is commonly found on backcountry trails because the bears, along with many other critters, find them as convenient for travel as we do. I have to think an animal the size of Sasquatch would produce movements that would make even Shaquille O’Neal blush. Critters that leave footprints all over but never need to pinch a loaf are not to be trusted.

And I’ll bet the government is paying this guy to waste his time on this nonsense. Your stimulus tax dollars at work.

Hominids weren’t exactly primates. It doesn’t strike me as entirely clear what if any relationship there might have been between hominids, and monkeys or apes. IF bigfoot exists, he will turn out to be a hominid of some sort.

You and I are probably funding this through some kind of education grant. Even so, the fact that a professor could write such a proposal a d have a shot at getting it approved shows you how much excess “drone capacity” is out there. What’s it cost to fly a Predator per hour? How many hours does the proposal suggest will be needed? Lots I bet.

The drone IR location will provide locations to plce the trail cameras

Given the areas to be searched it can be argued that narrowing down the trails on which to put cameras is an effective strategy.

Justifying the cost is not going to be an easy task however

All he’d need was a pair of binoculars and a bag of greasy fries for bait...

It’s all a distraction to keep the drones from watching the skies for UFOs.
