Does anybody know what the NY/NJ Fugitive Task Force does?

Posted on 04/19/2013 12:41:50 PM PDT by MacMattico

They just pulled up and took the guy away that was living at the house next door while he worked on it for the new owners.

Anybody know what they specifically do? Have never seen them around here. Yes I know what "fugitive" means.

If it’s the same group that was/is portrayed on TV, they go after hard target fugitives. Not sure what the trigger is to bring them in, as opposed to other LEO’s, but they seem to get the hard cases.

Wow! After reading about them I can see the man must have needed to be apprehended. Sounds like they go after the worst of the worst.

They probably hunt down escapees, bail jumpers, and people who have been charged but not taken into custody.

Yeah, they investigate people on the run from the law.

Mostly extradition and out of state warrants. Most bail jumper are handled by the bondsmen, but the fugitive squad will get involved if the individual is considered dangerous.

Tracking people on the run is a particular skill set, so it makes sense to have a fugitive unit.

Oh...not good. He was hired by an attorney to work on the house...!

Will not be happy if I find out he’s wanted for something that could have endangered my family!
