A trio of Huskers combined for the eighth no-hitter in school history on Tuesday afternoon, as Kyle Kubat, Tyler Niederklein and Dylan Vogt held the No. 10 Arkansas Razorbacks hitless in a 3-0 Nebraska win in the first game of a doubleheader.
It was the fourth combined no-hitter in school history and the first no-hitter since four Huskers no-hit Peru State on March 6, 1993. Tuesday was the first no hitter against a Division I program since April 5, 1981, when Anthony Kelley no-hit the Oklahoma Sooners.

It seems odd to have 3 pitchers combine for a no-hitter.
With today’s aluminum bats, a no hitter is even harder to pitch.

I’m about 50 years past paying attention to baseball, but have to ask is a no hitter with 3 pitchers more rare than with a single one?

The infield fly rule is an absolute necessity.
Too many “Oops,I dropped the ball” incidents without it.

Yes, if a pitcher is pitching a no hitter you normally would not pull him. Maybe if he started walking a lot or they started really hitting him hard and the defense makes a couple of great plays to preserve it.

so if a fly ball is caught, the runner should be out...this gets curiouser and curiouser, as they say....would make for a fascinating new game

As a diehard Razorback fan this is nothing short of pure embarrassment. No hit by a big ten or whatever they are now. Hog coach Dave van horn made the Nebraska team what it is today.

From what I understand, the bats used in college baseball are a lot different these days; they apparently lack quite a bit in the power department unlike the ones a couple of decades ago.
As a Nebraska fan, I love Dave Van Horn, but don’t blame him for the state of our current baseball team. It was an off night for the Razorbacks.

I was just reading something about the bats having less of the jack rabbit in them on the Oklahoma State forum. It sounds like it must be fairly recent change.
