An off-duty officer opened fire this morning, killing her husband and 1-year-old son in an apparent murder-suicide in Brooklyn this morning, sources said.

Police and EMS responded to a 911 call of a man shot inside of a building at East 56th Street and Farragut Road about 8:30 a.m., the FDNY said.

"There was believed to be no alleged motive in the murder-suicide."

Maybe one was a Knicks' fan and the other a Nets' fan.

There was a reason, just not known at this time. Yours could be a reason, but prolly not in this case.

I guess she wasn’t required to be subjected to the galactic background checks huh? Makes me wonder about the la cop and his background checks.

“There was believed to be no alleged motive in the murder-suicide.”

I’m not even sure I understand that statement or that it even makes sense............And it took TWO people to write the story.

Hmmm, how many police are killed in suicides every year compared to how many are killed by perps?

If suicides are higher, then I would like to push that issue with those who do not acknowledge the benefit of unfired firearms as a deterrent, i.e. “We need to take away the police firearms, as they are a greater danger to the police than the perps.”

It's the same logic the Left uses against armed citizens.

hippyhater ~ Guns should be taken away from the police. immediately

Maybe if off-duty cops weren't allowed to carry, they'd make sure the environment is safe enough for the rest of us to not carry?

That much stupidity won't fit in a single skull.

OK, just did the research. Nationally, twice as many cops - about 300 annually - commit suicide as are killed in the line of duty.

So, using Leftist logic, the police should be disarmed for their own good.

I think the grammar is okay, the syntax strained, but the English language definitely took two in the hat to construct a sentence like that.

This isn't surprising, considering how the left treats them. It's only a matter of time before the left tries to disarm them.

It was a comfort to the surviving family members that their loved ones were not gunned down with an assault rifle, or an illegal high capacity magazine, and that there was a police officer on the scene.

I read a portion of USA Today's Sports page at the airport on Friday and was shocked at the errors...

A caption under a picture of the NRA NASCAR race was so mangled I asked the wife to tell me what it meant......then I read about Tianlang Guan, the 14 yr old amateur golfer at the Masters....Of course the knowledgeable “sports writers” called him Guan Tianlang...
I smiled as I wondered what Cosell Howard would have to say about their sports knowledge and the sports editor...

I read an article last week on a Los Angeles' TV station's web site. The subject was about a black jockey who could be on a horse in the upcoming Kentucky Derby. The caption already gave him the win: he is the first African-American jockey to win the Kentucky Derby in 102 years. I guess we don't have to watch.

The percentage of domestic violence by police officers compared to the general public is a chart I would like to see. We are constantly told that guns should only be in the hands of those specially trained, I.E. law enforcement, but it seems to me that there are at least as many violent acts by percentage among law enforcement as the general populace.

We need to completly re-vamp how we police in the western world.

For me, after you get arrested for DUI after blowing a zero but cant stand on one leg because you are nervous, I have lost all respect for police in general.

For me, after you get arrested for DUI after blowing a zero but cant stand on one leg because you are nervous, I have lost all respect for police in general.

We are told that there is a drug war and that it is being lost. It has all but been surrendered. Persons can smoke pot quite publicly on bar patios and other places where it can be smelled from the street and police never conduct a "raid".

Yet just because you blow BELOW 0.08 (the nationally mandated BAC on the states, imposed through highway funding) does not mean you are "free to go" or "innocent" of DWI. It's a financial shakedown racket for the cities/counties/courts/lawyers/insurance/politicians.

If the same standard was applied to drug possession and use, there might actually be a "war on drugs" being waged.

And watch out, persons in Utah want the BAC lowered to 0.03 and in Sweden it is 0.01. Neo-prohibition, here we come.

In Arizona they charge $17 a mile for a DUI tow. And they bust you at the very edge of the county, to rack up the highest bill possible. My tow cost me $600. And you don’t get that back if you are found not guilty. And the cops brother in law owns the towing company. With such a high, legislatively sanctioned, towing rate the corruption is basically inevitable.

So I am standing there in court, the corrupt cops, prosecutors and judge are there and everybody is looking at me like I am some sort of scumbag.

It is just surreal. Really scary stuff.

And the scariest part is, you cant move to another country to escape this. It is everywhere.

And another scary part is that we will never have self driving cars, which would stop this. Because the “DUI Industrial Complex” wont permit it, because there racket is so lucrative that they will prevent this from ever happening.

Of course. The danger is that the cops will be disarmed before we will.

Hmm.

Wait....
