I've been familiar with hashtagging for years, first on IRC and then Twitter. However, I had never heard the term "hashtag" until quite recently, but then the term itself is relatively new.
This reminds me of a similar Scullyism:
Vin Scully & Troy Tulowitzki's Mullet
To: abigail2; AgThorn; al baby; BAW; bboop; BenLurkin; Bob J; Bon of Babble; Brad's Gramma; ...
