Site doesn't load completely- I tried IE,FF,Safari,Opera and Chrome.
I am outside the US : in California.
Chrome Version 26.0.1410.43 m
Safari 5.1.7 (7534.57.2)
Happens every now and then.
It’s twilight time!
Yeah, I’m noticing it now, and have seen it before.
We learn to live with it.
Yep - amazing how these issues seem to show up/increase when the freepathons get rolling...
So its not just me.
Gotta be little Kimmy’s orbiting kitty satellite trying to zot FR.
I live in IL and it doesn’t load here either, what is the problem?
I only get 22 posts with no side bar on the right. There is no search function. And, there is only one page of pings.
I tried on my cell phone, and nada for some threads. Half loaded pages.
I do not have that problem but the mail thingy will not turn off after reading messages. Has been that way for a few weeks. Any suggestions on how to turn it off?
You’d think they’d try another forum software? Many exist.
This happens from time to time -- because of some obscure software glitch. It will probably be corrected tomorrow and you can switch the pagination back to 50 (or whatever).
Why load it completely? To see duplicate, content free threads like this one?
Oh, for crying out loud.
That's the very last thing we want or need!
I think JimRob must be sequestering blue state accounts. Sorry 'bout that.
It tells you about the current net bottlenecks. There are quite a few at the moment.
Not so difficult.
It’s Freepathon time, make a big donation and it will load again!
There’s always someone wanting VB, or some other scussy forum variant.
Neither of them generally hold a candle to the FR software.
Yep, it is amazing. Perhaps it is time to hire a real programmer.
When I switch to “Headers” I can see the sidebar and more posts.
Lol. Barking up the wrong tree, particularly after Apache is no longer serving. It’s just rolling internet bottlenecks; you can check the current status yourself. The sorry state of clogged US interwebs, partly because of a large Japanese provider, has been well documented.
You tell ‘em, dalereed!
I didn’t post this to pick a fight.
Mods remove the thread if its used to trash the site.
FR isn’t loading correctly for me anymore either... my Breaking News sidebar suddenly disappeared. Grrr!
I know you didn’t. Yours is the second thread and these threads always turn into bitch sessions, like “Jim needs to hire a real programmer” as posted above.
John Robinson is a computer genius. FR has been running screaming fast. It’s past Midnight and the sidebars are missing for “some folks,” and you’d think it’s the end of the world.
Yet, we have our FReepathon ongoing and stalled at 8%. Sometimes, it’s difficult to understand the thinking of some of the posters here, and I’m NOT talking about YOU.
God bless and keep you and thanks very much for your patience, your understanding and your loyal support.
Standard, just hit ‘headers’ until they fix it.
Same here. Also in Mexifornia. Although I don’t think we are being singled out.
I never notice this problem. I only ever have enough time and patience to read/comment on the top articles, post one or two new ones and read pings. I actually do have a little bit of a life.
Same thing in Texas, part of the time.
Have not figured out why. Most of the time it is normal.
Sorry dude, but it is a well known fact that the software has problems that hasn’t been properly addressed by those that manage the software.
All is well here just outside the US in California.
Did you set your beeber to stune?
Has to do with google being set to automatically dump load over to a few nodes that are known bottlenecks when traffic is heavy.
A product of the cloud, I’m afraid.
I’m sure that what’s well-known in your head would amaze me. Dude ;).
OK, thanks for that info. My ISP made a deal to put my e-mail through G-mail and the Cloud. It sucks. They were connected with AT&T before the move to Google for email.
The Local ISP is a Telephone Coop and they are great people. I think they made this change to reduce the paperwork required. My suspicion is the Feds ordered them to do so. More of the extreme filtering that is going on. This will only get worse. Are we rapidly approaching the Police State? Sure looks like it to me. When they succeed in destroying the chains of the Constitution, the Republic is finished. I believe that is Obozo job and why he is where he is. And also why no one will openly oppose him. Very Bad.
Well, the cloud - as used by google, yahoo, MS and others - is supposed to make the net more stable and fault-tolerant. The downside is that there’s central cloud-controllers who have to cool down excess use by dropping heavy amounts of load, over short time, to large nodes run by folks like that Jap global isp. One of those is right near FR and you have to go through it.
So when interesting news make people use google and yahoo, they suck up half the web.
You clearly have a better grasp on this than I do. My networking skills are not large. I long for the days when this was simple. Simple works. Complexity kills performance and at times people. Things that are more complex than necessary are generally because someone else benefits from it.
What okie01 said. Then if you're still having problems, go to Account, click Manage Blocks, and set Region to Disabled for as many blocks as you can stand to live without.
