Teens accused of ‘gallon smashing’ at local store

Some Butte teens may be crying over spilled milk.

That’s because they face possible charges for imitating an Internet prank known as “gallon smashing” that has gone viral recently.

Butte police say one 15-year-old boy was cited with misdemeanor criminal mischief and theft for intentionally destroying two one-gallon cartons of milk in Walmart Friday evening. Police suspect three other teens may have been involved and charges were pending Monday.

The teen grabbed two one-gallon jugs of milk and threw them on the floor in Walmart at about 6:30 p.m., police reported. The jugs ruptured and spilled milk all over the floor; the juvenile then fell to the floor and rolled in the spilled milk, according to the police report.

Another teen allegedly recorded the incident with his cell phone, according to Undersheriff George Skuletich. Employees detained the teen accused of smashing the jugs, while the other teens managed to get away.

The boy allegedly told police his friends wanted to record him smashing the milk and then post the video on YouTube, Skuletich said.

In the relating of this account, the car is usually a fine Cadillac.

It wasn't a caddy, not too many deer hunters go "stump jumping" in a Cadillac. It was a relatively new car in otherwise good condition. I don't recall the make, pretty sure it wasn't a Chevy, might have been a Pontiac.

Myth Busters did an episode on this sort of thing where they sealed a couple of pig carcasses in a brand new Corvette and then rolled the sealed car into an ISO shipping container and closed the doors tight. They left it to bask in the sun for some months. When they opened it up the Corvette was a major barf inducing wreck. The carcasses liquefied and soaked into every nook and cranny. MB turned the car over to a detailing shop who thought they might be able to salvage the car, I don't recall they had much success.

Regards,
GtG

PS I did have a chance to buy a cherry 1955 Packard Clipper Custom Constellation for $50.00, which I had to turn down as I was making $0.75/hr.

I’m not saying they shouldn’t be in trouble, but the person I posted to said jail time and a permanent record. Why not 500 hours community service?...or fines?

I was thinking to send him to a dairy farm for a month. Working the hours and labor to produce that gallon of milk...maybe appreciate it more. Or not.

CPS comes and charges you with child abuse...

It's good to be out in the country where there is no "CPS" - - at least, none I'm aware of. If there is a CPS in the vicinity, I welcome them to meet my Rottie (if they get out of the car). Then there's the "WARNING: Homeowner will not be held responsible for hunting accidents to trespassers" sign at the top of the driveway. Trespassers usually turn around and leave.

Pet peeve with presstitutes:

That’s because they face possible charges for imitating an Internet prank

1) Walmart isn't the internet; it's a real, physical business.

2) Vandalism and theft (and a host of other misdesignated acts) are not "pranks"; short-sheeting your roomie is a prank.

We need to employ Singapore’s method of disciplining with a good cane lashing.

Actually, making truancy a capital offence would save most of this and the next generation.

No, the saving is well past. We have 5 generations, that are full-on sociopaths. No way to correct that...hopefully, you have been learning s-kills. Take good care, you are now the truant.

Dear Nooob-
Part of that involves children being seen and not heard. Now hush.

There are better ways to discipline kids (and 15yo’s) than beating them.

My Grandmother would have said “take them to the field and horsewhip them” for doing such a stupid thing.

My aunt used to make the kids go out and select a good whipping branch off the pussy willow bush when it came time to 'pay the piper', and G-d forbid if you came back with a small branch...she would go out and get one herself and reward you with a few extra lashes for inconveniencing her.

I miss the 'good old days'...

hmmm really? wow share your insights?

I got spanked when I was a kid and deserved every one of them...

Oh wait... are you unable to differentiate between simple discipline and abusive beating?

Perhaps you should sit a 6 year old down and explain to him the physics of a cars’ momentum as a function of mass and velocity as it applies to the ability to stop when a child runs into a street, rather than whack him on the ass to make him stop doing it...?

All I remember from being a kid is NEVER to run into the street after the first time I did it and my father freaked and gave my butt a good reminder lesson. And I vividly remember it to this day, and thank God he cared enough for me to do it.

Loaded BS question. How about instead of “jail time and criminal record” you make them do 500 hours community service? You want to punish these kids worse than a grown man who gets a DUI?

Sorry, but I don't want any of these thugs in my "community" doing 500 hours "service." Maybe in your community, but not mine. Throw them in jail and charge them with whatever crime they're guilty of.
