Need help with Zatarain's Crispy Southern Fish-Fri Mix
3-12-2013 | bimboeruption

About a couple of weeks ago, in one of the political threads, Zatarain's Crispy Southern Style Seasoned Fish-Fri Mix was discussed.

I wish I would have saved it because FReepers had included their favorite Zatarain fish recipes which sounded DELICIOUS.

Please, could you share them with us again?

Zatarain’s Fish Fry is just seasoned corn meal. It’s better to just make your own, and season it how you like.

Bing uses google. They add google results to theirs and filter out the references.

Startpage.com uses Google results, but it scrubs your IP address from your searches, as they go through StartPage.

I will get right on this as soon as my first attempt
(four loaves) of New Orleans style French bread comes out of
the oven (about 15 minutes)

Best store bought mix Ive ever used is called Kentucky kernal. Just crack a couple of eggs in a bowl and stir them up take your fish and dip them in the egg mixture then salt them a little. Empty the flour into a large tupperware bowl while the peanut oil is getting heated up. Then just add a few pieces of fish to the bowl and with the top on shake it vigorously to coat well. Place the fish into the hot oil and get ready to chowder down. My favorite fish to eat is crappie. I have found that this mixture combined with the crappie will create a feast fit for a king. Don't forget to slice you up a couple of jumbo vidalia sweet onions for rings just dip them in the same mixture before You fry em up.

I did go there before posting on FR.

Some of the recipes offered by Freepers used beer in the batter...this is what I’m looking for.
