SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — GOP strategist Karl Rove said Saturday that rebuilding the Republican brand in California will be a tough task that will require them to diversify and create a strategy to spread their message to a wider audience.

Holy California Tokyo Rove Alert! Karl discovered midway through his speech that he was not in fact talking at CPAC today but rather to a group of liberal GOP RINOS. So he quickly changed the context of the speech to include the words "diversity", "expand our reach and expand our members".

" The party, which holds no statewide office, ceded supermajority control to legislative Democrats, lost key congressional races and dipped below 30 percent in statewide voter registration."

Go for it, Karl baby. You would know all about how to lecture Republicans on how to lose!

Becoming more like the Dems — becoming Dem-lite is not the answer.

Try being an true alternative to the Dems. And grow a backbone — quit folding to the Dems at every opportunity.

There’s always somebody who actually wants to be like the democrats because they envy the worst the democrats have to offer.

In Rove’s case he envies the mindless morons who blindly follow the democrats and he wants some for himself.

"It's not just the tactical stuff," Rove said. "(We've) got a strategic issue. We have great principles, but we sometimes talk about those principles in a way that makes it sound like it's in 1968 or 1980 or 2000 and it's not. It's 2012 on its way to 2014."

1980 huh? I wonder what happened in 1980, Karl?

I swear that rove is trying to win the DNC “salesman of the year” award for all of the crap he’s trying to sell the conservatives on.

Uh, Karl ole buddy....I liked the way we talked about it in 2009, 2010 and 2011, when we kicked Obama’s ass in every election of consequence!

It was Rove who destroyed the Republican Party in California by working against Bill Simon, who had beaten out his chosen socialist RINO in the primary. And then, after the conservatives removed Gray Davis, he inserted good old Arnie, who probably succeeded in destroying the Republicans’ chances of ever regaining California again.

Karl Rove, 2013:

“Losing has one great benefit to it,” Rove told a gathering of delegates at the party’s spring convention in Sacramento. “It gives you the chance to start fresh to look everything anew and start rebuilding from the ground up in innovative and thoughtful ways that will expand our reach and expand our members.”

Ronald Reagan, 1975:

I don ‘t know about you, but I am impatient with those Republicans who after the last election rushed into print saying, “We must broaden the base of our party” — when what they meant was to fuzz up and blur even more the differences between ourselves and our opponents.

“A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency, or simply to swell its numbers.”

It’s like Reagan was talking directly about Rove.

I’ll take Reagan’s advice over Rove’s.

With Rove, it’s gone from “Magnificent bastard!” to “Magnificent, bastard!”

Yep. Give the American tax slaves someone to vote FOR.
If they wanted democrats in office - they'd come out and vote democrat. Because they're not given much of a choice - democrat(D) or democrat(R), they don't bother to come out and vote at all. Why waste the gas for nothing? (especially at $4.00 a gallon).

So, Gerry Parsky accomplished the very mission Rove sent him on all those years ago.
