Finally A Gun Is Used To Stop A Crime Instead Of Killing Innocent People
Business Insider ^ | 02Mar13 | Henry Blodget

One of the most common and persuasive arguments against gun control is that guns offer a means with which good guys can protect themselves from bad guys.

In practice, unfortunately, the guns that good guys own to protect themselves from bad guys too often end up killing the good guys' kids or wives or the good guys themselves (either via suicide, accident, or, in some cases, because they're grabbed by the bad guys and used against the good guys). Or, as in the case of Florida teen Trayvon Martin, the guns kill people who the good guys think are bad guys but who aren't actually bad guys.

“Only train professionals should be permitted to carry firearms.”

Okay, if they want to play that game. I was trained by Uncle Sam many years ago and I have, in turn, trained my wife and daughter.

Amen. I about crapped when I read that: Or, as in the case of Florida teen Trayvon Martin, the guns kill people who the good guys think are bad guys but who aren't actually bad guys.

George was flat on his back with a thug in a hoodie beating his head repeatedly on the cement. I think any reasonable man would be entirely justified in concluding that the perp was a seriously bad guy who needed a well-placed bullet. The author of this article is a fool.

"There are none so blind as those who refuse to look..."

Or are too stupid or dishonest to use Google efficiently.

Look here, Doofus!

There are at least 9 web pages of incidents.

Only train professionals should be permitted to carry firearms. The peons must not be permitted arms because they can not be trusted

Thats precisely what Chris Dorner said.

They still don’t understand. We don’t need guns to protect us from the bad guys (most of the time). We need them to protect us from bad government.

We need them for both a despotic government and criminals (but I repeat myself.)
The Second amendment affirms the righ unequivocally against the former; the latter is a gray area, but common sense and justice should guarantee it, since the police is not obligated to prevent our murder by criminals, but they are all proud of themselves when, dressed in full SWAT regalia, they collect our bodies after the crime.

"When seconds count, the police are just minutes away..."

Ok kids, Business Insider is a leftie site with all of the NY gun hating tendencies. Rather than spew about the article (which is what they want) just delete Business Insider from your favorites as I have done. Joe W. Smartypants will feel the pain when views drop to zero. Don’t debate them, ban them.

‘Business Insider’ is the Democrat propaganda version of a genuine business publication such as Forbes, the Wall Street Journal, Investors Business Daily, etc.
Keep that in mind whenever you notice it’s the source.

This idiot is a liberal with a criminal background who would rather be called a “libertarian.” His publication always wrong...as stupid as he is.

Second, the coach was a trained police officer. He knew very well how to carry, handle, and use his handgun. And the fact that he used it effectively under the extreme shock and pressure of being robbed at gunpoint shows how well trained he was.

Ha, that half-truth (at best) might have been plausible to some a month ago, but the LAPD's performance during the Dorner episode tells the tale.

That's Freepers' fault. If we kept a running total of incidents nationwide, we can instantly educate/challenge these apparently clueless "reporter"/commentators.

We have a total of incidents, by month, on Gun Watch, since 2004.

http://gunwatch.blogspot.com/

The NRA runs a monthly column called the Armed Citizen

They are pretty well coverd in the Banglist as well, just not as accessable, IMHO.

Typical liberal spreading a typical liberal lie. Liberals are the most stupid and ignorant of idiots.

The skeet shooting Montana girl that blew away 2 armed (one packing a stolen .45 auto; the other packing a knife) illegal aliens who home-invaded while she was home alone.

Or the 12 YO Oklahoma girl.

Or, posted earlier today: “Liquor store owner detains knife-wielding robber at gunpoint” http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/2992922/posts

So many examples, none of which he’ll read or give credence to.

Have at it Free Republic. I say that Henry Blodget hasn't heard of the Loganville, Ga woman who defended herself and her kids in a home invasion. Might not be a bad idea to flood his inbox with the many many many many examples of people defending themselves.
That's Freepers' fault. If we kept a running total of incidents nationwide, we can instantly educate/challenge these apparently clueless "reporter"/commentators.

the problem is the MSM in the different states totally ignore these incidents, but most of the local press always report them. How can we do better?

Might best we consult abb on that one . . .

“Have at it”, you say?

In that case, consider this howler: “...in the case of Florida teen Trayvon Martin, the guns kill people who the good guys think are bad guys but who aren’t actually bad guys.”

One must assume the presstitute who wrote that line never did his research, and didn’t see the Facebook pics of the soi dissant “No limit Nigga” acting out his inner thug.

I would think, tho, that Freepers would be posting a lot of the local articles you want, here on FR. I would imagine that the main problem is that most defensive uses amount only to a brandishing which convinces a menacing individual that there is no point picking what is at best a fair fight.
