For Zaida Saleh, like for many observant Muslim women, manicures have long posed a religious problem.
With prayers five times a day, and a pre-prayer ritual that requires washing the hands and arms, traditional fingernail polish has been mostly off limits because it prevents water from making contact with the nails.
A new "breathable" nail polish by a Polish company, Inglot, is changing that.
The company and some Muslims say the polish is the first of its kind because it lets air and moisture pass through to the nail. A craze has built up around it with Muslim women in recent months after an Islamic scholar in the United States tested its permeability and published an article saying that, in his view, it complies with Muslim law.

I looked hard to try and find if this was a satyrical peice. Best I can tell, it's not.
Next, the Pols plan to invent see through fabric for the Muslim women. This affects the beauty of Muslim women as there will be fewer disfigured noses associated with walking into solid objects while wearing black fabric over faces.
Nope, it’s not satire. I read about this nail polish for Muslims a few weeks ago, on a site that reviews makeup, skin & hair products. etc. The site has forums, and the women who post there were gushing ecstatically about the thoughtfulness and “social conscience” of the company that came up with it.
Just a day or two ago, the same forums were laughing hysterically over a “joke” that the outgoing Pope is going to give birth to the “new Jesus.”
Nineteen of them were, and we see how well that worked out.
What a relief! Now if they would just find a way to prevent female mutilation, stoning, blowing up little kids with bomb vests, and chopping hands off that would really be great.
