Jerry Buss, the longtime owner of the Lakers whose penchant for showmanship helped turn the game of basketball into Showtime and who led the team to 10 NBA championships, died Monday. He was 80.

At least he is no longer around to see his Lakers not even make the play-offs this year.
I remember him as one of the main characters in the Wayne Gretzky trade saga. The Kings acquired Gretzky after Buss sold the team, but he had set the events in motion a couple of years earlier by planting the seed in the minds of the Edmonton Oilers.

He sure made Mark Cuban look stupid with that Lamar Kardashian trade.
As a die hard Laker fan today is a truly sad day for Laker Nation..I havent felt this bad since Chick Hearn died..such an incredible loss..hopefully his sons can continue the Laker tradition..RIP Dr Buss
