YouTube sensation Michelle Jenneke: track star to supermodel

Aussie track runner poses for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue

Australian track runner, Michelle Jenneke placed fifth at the 2012 Junior World's in Barcelona. Now she can add bikini model to her resume.

Most models spend their entire career trying to nail this coveted position. Jenneke on the other hand was merely caught in a pre-game warm up dance that made her a sensation over night. She’s been mentioned on countless blogs and even on The Tonight Show. Her recent brush with international fame has made her one of few female athletes featured in the pages of Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Issue.

The magazine features a plethora of models but selects a few female athletes to grace its pages. The 19 year old was extremely flattered by the honor saying in her Sports Illustrated profile video,"I was absolutely amazed when I found out [S.I.] wanted to shoot me because they're such a big name."

Should the beauty decide to deter from both track and modeling, she certainly has her options open.

News.com.au reports Jenneke studies mechatronic engineering, a combination of mechanical and electrical engineering at Sydney University.

Her mother Nicky told News "She's got to decide if she wants a future in athletics. It's just one of the many things she does in life."

She's above average for a female athlete, but a supermodel? Come on.

If she's a supermodel, so's about a third of the female population of my son's high-school class.

And no, I'm not fooled by the makeup job she's wearing in those pictures.

I watched this video (the original sports narrated version) about ten times last year.
What’s not to love about that girl?

Kate Moss, of “heroin chic” fame, was called a “supermodel”, too.
I’ll take this wonderful track star in a heartbeat. I think she’s gorgeous.

I'm not saying she's not hot. I'm not saying any normal male human being would kick her out of bed for snoring.

I'm just saying she's not a supermodel.

It's like that guy Paul Potts, who blew the judges away singing 16 bars of Puccini. He sounded pretty good, had me fooled. Then I opened another browser window and spent about six seconds finding a YouTube video of Pavarotti singing the same phrase from the same opera. Yikes.

Potts was like a very nicely tricked out Camarro. Pavarotti was like an F-15 on full afterburner. You have to hear one to appreciate the other.

That’s our problem, Lancey. We don’t spend enough time looking at photos of supermodels to appreciate the difference.

She looks far better than the modern gay definition of ‘supermodel’ which is Kate Moss without makeup...AKA the body of an adolescent boy.

Cindy Crawford or Linda Evangilista would be considered fat today.

Hell one discussion I say a while back had dudes saying Maralyn Monroe was and I quote “A fat pig”.

We are doomed.

You know, she calls me at all hours of the night.

Don’t understand why. I really could use to lose 35#’s but, I ain’t arguing, just wish she’d call during the day....

My definition of 'supermodel' would be someone like current Sports Illustrated cover girl Kate Upton, or Cindy Crawford about 20 years ago - and neither had the body of any adolescent boy who ever existed.

This girl isn't in their league, but like I said - she's very cute.

The next time she sees a photographer coming, it would help if she would change into a less utilitarian chest protector.
