Students, Activists to Rally for Health Care Justice

Health professional students will march down the Mall to the steps of the State Capitol in Sacramento, where they will be joined by hundreds of community members gathered to support guaranteed, universal health care in California for the eighth year. The rally is expected to draw more than 600 people including community members and physicians and nurses from around the state. There will be a flashmob on the steps of the State Capitol, where almost 300 health professional students in white coats will hope to draw attention to the more egregious practices of the health insurance industry. Despite the advances made with the Affordable Care Act, health practitioners’ actions are tightly controlled by the insurance industry. Only a single payer system can cut those strings, and give health providers the freedom they need to treat every individual with dignity and respect.

So our future healthcare professionals think the greedy insurance companies are preventing good healthcare but the gov't won't. This new crop of students aren't even being taught critical thinking and to treat each individual patient based on their circumstances. I've seen this kind of care in action.

Here’s more:
A fiscally responsible solution, single payer health care would also increase funding available for education; as the rising cost of medical care outpaces inflation, the state has struggled to fulfill obligations to state employees’ benefit packages, directly impacting educator hiring and money available for school programs. The resulting furloughs, hiring freezes, and cuts not only harm education, but further weaken the economy as more money is diverted to health care.

WTF? In CA the poor and illegal’s get the best of treatment free. The working class pays and goes broke getting it while their jobs are taken by illegals. Health care justice?

These idiots have no clue as to what a single-pay would be like . They couldn’t begin to imagine or maybe they could, just how close this is Communist. The Commies solidified their power by creating a health care system where none had existed before. This way they could determine who got it and who didn’t and to what level of care they received. And they would have a huge database on database on everyone.

Sounds like a typical union, CPUSA, DSA rally to me. The tip off was Health Care "Justice." Wonder who organized it? PSR? (Physicians for Social Responsibility). (One of the speakers from PSR). Went to one of their meetings in the 80s. They had the American Flag on one side of the podium and the old USSR hammer and sickle flag on the other. I went, "Whoa, what's this all about?" Quickly picked up on their agenda. They're one radical outfit. A lot of young docs and other health-care professionals are getting brainwashed by them: PSR. Haven't looked at their site in some time. They have all the usual anti-nuke, global warming, anti-gun, single payer stuff on their site. They target the students and young docs. Not good. After taking a new look at the site, it looks like it's become just another Obama media outlet.

I was always a fan of Doctors for Disaster Preparedness: DDP Home Page. I read their monthly newsletters. Check out the archives. Lots of realistic scientific analysis to counter the PSR hysteria. Also has a civil defense section.

Check our their 2013 Forecasts. Interesting. . .

"There will be a flashmob on the steps of the State Capitol, where almost 300 health professional students in white coats will hope to draw attention to the more egregious practices of the health insurance industry."

Is Flashmob Ayers' or Obama's idea?

"Despite the advances made with the Affordable Care Act, health practitioners’ actions are tightly controlled by the insurance industry. Only a single payer system can cut those strings, and give health providers the freedom they need to treat every individual with dignity and respect. Key speakers will include Dr. Paul Song, a prominent radiation oncologist from Los Angeles and husband to the Oprah Winfrey Network’s Lisa Ling. Also speaking at the rally will be Dr. Arthur Chen, featured as TIME magazine’s 2011 Person of the Year (“the Protester”) for his activism with Occupy Oakland and social justice in health care, and Ana Mascareñas from Physicians for Social Responsibility from Los Angeles."

Wish I could go and protest. Any FReepers in that area who can go and make some noise? "Repeal Commiecare" sign comes to mind. .
