Is Fox News Really That Different?
WND ^ | January 29, 2013 | Joseph Farah

Posted on 01/29/2013 8:43:34 PM PST by SeminoleCounty

For many Americans, Fox News is their “alternative” choice for news. They’ve made it the No. 1 cable news network, largely because they believe its “fair and balanced” promotional slogan? Many even believe Fox leans to the right and provides news they can’t get anywhere else. But is Fox really different from the rest of the media? Or has it been successful merely at positioning itself as different? Would it surprise you to know that individuals at News Corp., the parent company of Fox News, gave nearly six times as much money to Barack Obama than Mitt Romney in the 2011-2012 election cycle?

Interesting study. Though now I would say Special Report has moved a little more left...as the network has moved that way

The only real difference when Fox News started was they reported straight news without bias.

A house burns down and Fox reports “a house burned down” while the others would report “a house burned down that was owned by a black woman...residents wonder if the delay in the fire truck was because they are racist.”

Why is WND attacking Fox?

Probably because Fox attacks WND over the Obama Eligibility stories...yet at the same time is still plagarizing WND stories...reports based on WND articles without any acknowledgement of the source

I think Fox started falling off the wagon when they started obsessing and giving wall to wall coverage over stories like Natalie Holloway. Yea, poor girl went missing and probably killed. Don’t need to hear about it 24/7. It started them down a path of hyper-analyzing every moment of ratings to see what drives the most viewers. Unfortunately it is tabloid, not deep politics.

Remember though in the equation that they did spin off Fox Business which is much more to the right. (yea they have libs but they are strong pro-capitalism).

The problem with WND and eligibility stories is they ran with everything, no matter how off the wall or obviously fake with no attempt to determine if it was real. They were running those bogus ‘African Press International’ stories long after that source was debunked as being completely bogus.

They kept falling over and over for the Lucas Smith stories long after he was revealed to be a con artist.

They lacked any discernment and probably did as much to harm the story as to help it. They don’t have a lot of room to criticize other news outlets.

“IMHO WND is a conspiracy rag.”

I reiterate ... OK!

I have found WND to be more accurate than many other sources that ply the internet. However, they are not my only source (see my personal page), just one of the better ones.

I have given up on all TV news and feel especially sad at the move toward the middle by FNC.

I have given up on all TV news ....

If you have Direct TV, a little hidden 'treat'. Turn to channel 2119. It is Communist China's version of CNN- CCTV. Once you have a good discernment of their obvious bias, you will find there is a lot less editorializing there. Just know from what angle it comes. They have a lot of international stories that we don't see and they are more critical of O, especially on economic issues than most domestic sources. I was shocked the other day when they had a commentator say how the US is tanking because of unmanageable debt. You won't hear that from any of the CBS/NBS/ABS stations.

Fox’s sincere problem is they are missing a network. Two networks actually.

Headline News. And CNBC.

They have Fox, which matches CNN. But they have nothing like Headline News. And nothing like CNBC.

Headline News is a significant portion of what makes CNN what it is. If Fox were to roll out a Fox Headline News, along with something with live stock quotes during the days.

They would perhaps be onto something.

They don’t have those things yet.

So they’re not the major player yet.

Yes some of their Eligibility stories were kinda odd...but the main premise of theirs was, and still is, correct on that issue...Obama still cannot prove he is eligible

Although the worse eligibility stories were the ones that always tried to push Frank Marshall Davis as Obama’s father...when it was quite obvious after the “2016” film that George Obama and Barack Jr looked too much alike (Barack Sr was the father of both). Most of the “FM Davis is Obama father” stories were really just ruses to attack Birth Certificate/Eligibility people.

One thing that you’ll find interesting is that China is seriously rattling sabers with Japan over those disputed islands- to the point that almost every hour is a mention of WWII atrocities. It is like they are conditioning China for a war by framing the view of the enemy.

Have you ever read Sun Tzu’s Art of War? This whole Chinese strategy is right out of his book.

FNC is definitely different, and to say it’s not is disingenuous.

Unfortunately the only thing I remember from the book is not to fully enclose your enemy as doing so essentially provokes an unrivaled survival fight that would not otherwise exist if the enemy feels it can escape.

It doesn’t seem like an accident that they only hire pro amnesty people. Maybe it’s a directive from the top.

It WAS different in the 90’s. But after bringing on liberal after liberal, they’ve been infleunced to the prevailing liberal view. The constantly pushed and schilled for both McCain and Romney. So I stopped watching. There’s no piece of news they can tell me that I haven’t already seen online anyway. I could care less about their “brilliant” commentary.

"Why is WND attacking Fox?"

For the same reason that other conspiracy-theory nutcases (like Alex Jones) attack Rush Limbaugh, FNC, and any other entity that refuses to take right-wing fringer extremists seriously.
