The country is run by idiots because the majority of what passes for the American public these days are idiots. That’s the real problem. It isn’t simply a matter of weeding out a bunch of bad politicians, we have a people problem that will probably take generations to fix.
People are responsible for their government. Our slide toward secular socialism is a result of a majority of the American public supporting exactly that. Unless we have a massive economic collapse in the near term, turning this mess around is going to take many, many years.
