Apple requires you to buy a $100 Apple TV... then you have to buy adapters to each Apple device.

What are you talking about? I'm curious to learn. I have an Apple TV puck, and easily stream wirelessly from my other several Apple devices. I also have a Roku puck, but it doesn't have half the features. What are these adapters you're talking about? I have none. And it works fine, wirelessly.

A finance thread sounds good to me as well. I also trade for my retirement and it might be beneficial to bounce some ideas off each other. I’m pretty sure there are some people in the business on FR who work at a brokerage but what freedom they have to share views I don’t know. Of course this January has been very kind to me (the best one in 17 years going by the data). When the market is near new highs one gets nervous about a correction.

If you do I’d be interested, but you’d have to go to FReepmail to discuss AAPL. We have a contingent of anti-fanbois who make discussion nearly impossible, and that extends to perpetual doomism as far as the stock. They’ve been screaming sell for years and years. Blind pigs and all that, lol.

"Apple makes a good product, but they are too restrictive. They own everything you buy, not you."

That's absolutely not true.

" I also can’t do without Flash Player. When thirsty iPhone came out, they said Flash was a thing of the past and HTML5 is the wave of the future. Here we are 6 years later and you still can’t access any streaming websites without Flash. "

There was more to that early on, but these days you can easily live without Flash. I have it turned off in my browser and only notice it because of the empty ad frames. Most video streams using HTML5 now, uTube certainly does.

Since Apple portable devices are by far the most used to browse the Internet, almost all websites have moved on from Flash. It's also been announced that Adobe is dropping Flash for Android as a product in favor of HTML 5.

http://www.techspot.com/news/49203-no-flash-in-android-41-no-new-installs-for-any-version-after-august-15.html

The move follows an announcement last November in which Adobe openly said it wanted to ditch mobile Flash in favor of HTML5, as the software giant considered that to be the best solution for browsers across different smartphone platforms.

Apple sucks but I would limit myself on that if Chuckles starts a fiance thread plus Apple is just a tiny part of investment and finance

Nothing like a financial article written by third graders.

Apple is a ridiculous company...This is the best that American capitalism can do? It turns my stomach to see all the free propaganda Apple gets on CNBC. Anyways Exxon market cap is now larger than Apple’s. Exxon actually produces useful things

Check out Samsung on the UK stock exchange. Up 33% in the last 6 minths

Doesn’t Samsung assemble in China?

Lets just say that the Koreans have pride and economic nationalism so Samsung is involved in many industries such as shipbuilding, oil drilling ships, and financial services. Keeping many jobs in Korea for Koreans and farming out to China too on some of the electronics

Samsung seems to regard Foxconn as something of a model to emulate regarding Chinese operations. But somehow, this just isn’t as bad. No anti-fanbois aghast a-tall, nope, nada. Just sound business practice, lol.

Samsung is a poor proxy for Microsoft, btw. It’s reasonably well run and is actually experiencing some success in mobile devices.

Samsung should open up a FoxCom style slave factory in North Korea. I hear the workers there are very obedient. No robots needed because the people are robots

Do we want a forum or a thread? I would think a thread would end up 10,000 posts long in a month. And it would jump around from AAPL to XOM to BAC with no rhyme or reason. A forum could hold threads on options, particular stocks, charts, economic news ect.

I don't know how to do a lot of this Freeper stuff. The only way I know how to get hold of a moderator is say a Mormon is part of a cult. They get right on that. How do you get a new forum added? I just spout off when I get my dander up.

EFF Obama!

Well, that's me. Yeah, a forum sounds good. If it attracts too many trolls you call it a Caucus and have them booted. I lernt that from the religious forums :-)I'm sure there are people a person could ask on how to set one up. I'm technologically inept. But there does seem to be some interest in this.

There has been some interest in a Financial forum. As near as I can tell the moderators would have to set that up for us. However, we could post a thread and put financials in the keyword list. As it becomes more popular it would be placed in the popular keywords at the top right hand corner of the page ala banglist. A kind reminder to the moderators to keep us in mind would further enhance our chances of placement there. One person could post a daily or it could be done on a rotational basis. I look at this as the first step to achieving a dedicated forum category. Any feedback?

I've been digging through the site here and it appears the closest thing we already have to what we want would be to post under "General chat" and under the "Business/Finance" threads. The only problem then will be that we will be sorting through "action figures discontinued from Django movie", and other unrelated crap to find out if Amazon's earnings will suck. A better solution would be for the moderators to start a new forum for "investment discussions".

Does anyone know how to get the attention of said moderators without insulting a religious group or spouting hate speech? Otherwise we will have to put our ideas for an AAPL put spread in with "General Chat" or "News Activism".
