Jane Fonda Honored at the 2013 TCM Classic Film Festival

Two-time Academy Award winner Jane Fonda will be honored at the upcoming 2013 TCM Classic Film Festival in a two-part celebration of her career. The upcoming three-day extravaganza, which takes place Thursday, April 25 through Sunday, April 28 in Hollywood, will feature Fonda having her hand and footprints enshrined in concrete in front of TCL Chinese Theatre. And the star of such memorable films at Klute and Coming Home, will help introduce a screening of 1981 theatrical On Golden Pond, which gave her the opportunity to work with her legendary father, Henry Fonda, for the first and only time.

“We couldn’t be happier to be able to salute Jane Fonda at the TCM Classic Film Festival,” said TCM host Robert Osborne. “She’s an extraordinary actress and a truly fascinating woman, and despite her two Academy Awards, too little has been said and written about her work as an actress and all those amazing, top-tier films she’s made. Having Jane in person at the festival will also give film fans the rare opportunity to hear directly from the lady herself about her career, including her work with her father on the film On Golden Pond and how the father-daughter relationship they portrayed on screen in many ways paralleled their own complicated relationship.”

Fonda’s hand and footprints ceremony will take place Saturday, April 27, with her imprints to be placed next to her father’s spot in the theatre’s famous courtyard. This marks the third consecutive year TCM has featured a hand and footprint ceremony at TCL Chinese Theatre. In 2011, Peter O’Toole was the honoree, followed in 2012 by Kim Novak.

Isn't this nice for the commie beoch.

Anyone who watches TCM might want to send them a nastygram.

It's one thing to show her movies, but entirely another to honor her.

It will be easy to recognize her spot in front of the Chinese theater. It will be the one with a perpetual pile of fresh poop on it.

I don’t think the anti-aircraft gunner has been in any movie I’ve watched.

To say I am incensed would be putting it mildly. TCM is on virtually all the time in my home. Or rather I should say, used to be on all the time.

Did she ever make a credible movie or give a noteworthy performance?

TCM is my favorite channel... really, the only one I watch anymore... but I know that when Robert Osborne dies/retires, Ben Mankaface will take over and turn it into some counterculture hellhole, showing mostly stuff from the 60’s and 70’s. I’m trying to catch all the good stuff from the 30’s to the 50’s now that I can, because I know that when he takes over, they’ll be pretty rare. He’ll destroy what others built.

The "T" in TCM stands for Turner.

This may be part of Jane's alimony package.

Netflix has a fair selection. TCM is(was) the greatest.

I’m sure someone could just *happen* to kick her in the ass when she bends down to put her handprints in, and maybe she’ll be stuck in the concrete that way. I know a load of Veterans who would love to see that...definitely a public urinal location.
