Music Appreciation/Give Politics A Rest Day(VANITY)
None | 21JAN2013 | Jack Hydrazine

I am sick and tired of reading politics today and need a break from it. Post your favorite tuneage her! Turn up your speakers and enjoy!

I'll start of with the Scorpions "Acoustica" recorded live in front of an audience in Lisbon, Portugal and released in 2001. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acoustica_(Scorpions_album)

Although I'm primarily ACDC/Who/Stones and harder stuff, lately I've been drifting more towards:

Fearless - Pink Floyd when I want to be inspired.

Rats - Syd Barrett when I want to go a little insane.

Heroin - Velvet Underground when I want to feel stoned without actually doing drugs.

Pigs (Three Different Ones) - Pink Floyd or anything from the album "Animals" cause I just love the album.

Kudos on "Still Lovin You" by the Scorpions. That song in my Walkman tape player used to carry me off to sleep on many nights when I was a teen.

Anything by the Black Keys, for example:

Check out the 4-song EP Eric Burdon put out with the Greenhornes last year. Unfortunately his newest album (''Til Your River Runs Dry', dropping next week) is completely different and a bit more predictable.

Also, check out some of Nathaniel Mayer's final albums (where, as with Eric, he's backed by some more modern garage rock musicians of the past 20 years).

Anything by the Black Keys, for example:

And a bit more (early Little Richard) rock and roll from recent years are JD McPhearson:

and

the late Nick Curran (who's better than McPhearson but died last year after a several year bout with cancer)

That's a beautiful song. It seems to have been recorded on June 10, 1918, and released under the title "Twilight."
