(Reuters) - Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott has a message for New York gun owners: Come to Texas, and bring your guns with you.
"Texas is better than New York, and New York just gave us another excuse to say that," Abbott, a Republican, said on Thursday, after ads extolling Texas appeared on several media websites.

The people of NY made their bed, let them lie in it. They're the ones that voted for the clowns that have turned that state into a God awful mess. Only to be beat by California and Illinois and running neck & neck with NJ and the rest of the northeast.
My folks are like hostages up there. And there's no end in sight.
Texans will regret a massive wave of NY'ers. Just like Georgians and many other parts of the South.
Now watch some petulent POS like Chucky Schemer whine about this.
No more Yankees in Texas. They will bring their liberal, nanny state ideas with them.
Ya, flood Texas with hundreds of thousands of Muslim worshiping greedy mart owners and cab drivers....
No more Yankees in Texas. They will bring their liberal, nanny state ideas with them.
Exactly.Stupid New Yorkers have fouled their nest. They will come to Texas and foul yours if you’re not careful.
LOL, that would really hurt NY’ers. Cuomo’s tax base would disappear. I saw NY’s future 10 years ago when Hillary’s 240,000 high paying jobs for upstate never materialized, and the closing of factories continued. Laws and Taxes is what NY is about. Want to solve a problem? Make a law, its that simple.
Yup. Texas needs more libtards and their insane ideas, and turn a red state blue in a short time.
That’s 30 electoral votes right over to the blue column!
I think, in this particular case, the people that would move from NY to Texas to preserve their 2nd amendment rights are likely Republican voters anyway. Texans need to start thinking about importing good voters and this seems like a good way. Remember, Texas has an exploding Hispanic population and a lot of other people coming only for the jobs - those are the types that are like locusts and bring their bad voting habits with them. People who move solely over guns are mostly going to be high information voters that know not to cast ballots for Democrats.
Hey. Not all of New England is full of communists. Outside the major cities it is much more conservative.
Yup. There’s an old Texas joke, that Texans loathe three things: A ******* with a knife, a ***** with a gun, and a Yankee with a trailer...
As a very conservative, well armed, married to a beautiful Texan, escaped New Yorker(the Bronx) now living in the paradise of central Texas(10 Years)I say.....
HELL NO!!!
I WON’T let my extreme lefty family, still living in NYC to even cross the Red River in order to visit. In fact they are barred from traveling west of the Mississippi... Just visiting, these lefties would contaminate Texas...
New Yorkers have ruined Florida, North Carolina, even red Hampshire and Vermont.
Not true. There are plenty of pro life, pro gun, pro God, pro America folks in the northeast who have been stranded by circumstance. You should welcome them with open arms. Besides, as I get older I have a yearning to return to Candlewood Lake and Copperas Cove.
Yeah, I know... all Conservs are MORE than welcome ;) just make sure you lock the door when you leave so the socio-paths can’t get out (and go pollute Texas).
Hey, he is inviting gun owners. I live in upstate NY and have not met a liberal gun owner. Do you have liberal gun owners in Texas?
Yeah, it happened here in California. We once had Reagan as a governor, could own any type of gun available. Hunt and shoot just about anywhere, and then the New Yorkers and East Coast types poured into our state bringing their anti-gun Liberal votes with them.
There are actually many of us in the NE who - like you - recognize that our values and love for freedom are such that we would be more 'at home' in a place like Texas. It would also help to offset the votes of the illegals and libs who flock to Austin. We need to keep Texas from becoming like Florida and Virginia on the electoral map.
I am looking to pull up stakes from the PRNJ in the next 5 years or so, and Texas & Utah are on my short list. Congratulations on your escape from NY.
I think you are basically right. I am 61, if not for my daughter who is a widow with three young daughters, my wife and I would be in Texas or South Carolina right now. We got married in Belton, Tx when I was in the Army many moons ago. Good memories there. I’d love a place where I could build our own shooting range.
Not to mention that the more crowded a place becomes, the more liberal people start to think, because crowding forces compromises to freedom and forces the sharing of resources.
For example, since the First Commandment of Firearm Safety Is to “Always keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction” and since in crowded situations—where there are people living all around and even above and below you—there is no safe direction. So in such crowded situations guns are unsafe and the pressure will be on to place increasingly severe restrictions on gun ownership.
There are some liberal gun owners here. Or I should say “old time democrats” Not the kind of retarded Marxist lunatics that are so common in the northeast, although we have some of those too. But for the most part they aren’t gunowners.
I came for the jobs too! Voted for Cruz, I did.
Some of us trapped in liberal hells are more than willing to contribute to making Texas great!
Really! Shut up Perry or if you are going to invite them, warn them to leave their east coast social and economic liberalism behind when they come and join the Christian, constitutional wild west! Most are way too stupid to understand why Texas is free and they aren not free.
They will enslave us in a New York minute!
That’s what my point is, they’re the ones that have created their own problems. Let them deal with them.
When they show up, ANYWHERE, they bring that BS, NY attitude with them and its never positive.
“There are plenty of pro life, pro gun, pro God, pro America folks in the northeast ..”
Like my family, and me, and a great state senator is KATHY MARCHIONE! She is pro-life, and conservative in every way. Please sign her pro-2nd amendment petition:
She already has over 100,000 signatures!
