I do know however that I am even more sure than ever that the media, as proven by Te’o, Armstrong, and Steubenville, is simply not to be trusted on any story where they become enamored with the narrative and is particularly vulnerable to being completely fooled on a "perfect storm" story like the Sandusky scandal.
In other words, I was always confident that we were correct, but the events of the past couple of weeks have made me morally certain of it. Unlike with Sally Jenkins and Buzz Bissinger, that doesn’t happen unless I am right.

I’m sorry? Te’o is a scumbag, Armstrong is a scumbag and Steubenville - who dat? - and this somehow exonerates Paterono? The logic seems reversed somehow.
Let me just add, Paterno is a scumbag, Sandusky is a scumbag, Spanier is a scumbag, and those other administrators facing charges for the cover up - they are scumbags.

What crime was Joe Paterno accused of? The AG praised his cooperation, and he was a witness for the prosecution. Not sure why that makes him a “scumbag”.

Apart from that fact that anything Joepa might have testified to would be classed as hearnosay, wouldn't that fact that he was dead prevent him giving evidence?
Joe testified before the Grand Jury in 2011. Maybe “witness for the prosecution” was a misplaced term. “Witness for the State” at that point?
He gave it unless you are insinuating that there was more to his testimony than he gave...........
Paterno did what he was supposed to do, report to his superiors....Unless you've never been in the military, it's called "Chain of Command".....
Joe Paterno (and the others) KNEW FOR YEARS that Sundusky was a pedophile. And they covered it up, let it continue, so as not to create bad press for PSU. I am not alone in thinking this.

Can anyone really agree with you: Joe Paterno knew NOTHING that went on in Happy Valley OR with the Penn State football team, its coaches, their charities, etc. Yep, that's the ticket...he knew NOTHING!

It’s clear to me that most people have never read the Freeh Report, or looked into the facts of this case, or even realize that Sandusky was acquitted of any wrongdoing by the jury of that McQueary shower incident — the incident at the heart of all these accusations.
The folks that immediately comment negatively on threads like this (and send me hate freepmail) not only haven’t read the freeh report, they don’t even read the article linked.
I don’t understand the rush to judge a man like Joe when there are pending court cases that will hopefully tell us the truth. I know we didn’t get the truth from louis freeh.
The reason this story won’t “go away” as people wish it to, is because about 1/4 of it has been told. The b.o.t. meeting today was another bizarre chapter in this unending mess.
