If we ban smoking from TV and movies, why not ban smoking guns?

With all the chatter about firearms from the Entertainment World,I was struck by this. Smoking is verboten in TV and movies now. But firearms are not.

In one episode of Strike Back, a Brit spy series on CineMax, I counted 23 bodies in 60 minutes. If the Elites are so convinced of their position, let them ban smoking firearms from TV and movies first.

My guess is that script writers will have to produce real stories rather than a linked stream of shot'em ups.

..there is no talent in Hollywood. Everything is a remake or follow the same story line.

I see smoking in movies all the time. The current “Gangster Squad” movie is full of people smoking.

smoking in movies- makes smoking look cool and gets kids to smoke

violence in movies- totally irrelevant

homosexual glorification in movies- makes homosexuality look cool and gets kids to be accepting of gay lifestyles

Christianity in movies- dangerous and could influence kids to have un-evolved Christian values

There’s smoking in movies.
That site is particularly upset about Django Unchained, but of course it’s “brilliant” so no one else is saying boo....lol

I would love to see someone go after these movie stars about their part in the whole violance glorification. Maybe victems of violence should start suing them. They are always so anxious to redistribute someone else’s money, they surely wouldn’t mind a redistribution of their own.

Just consider how many lives have been saved by changing the FBI guns in the revised version E.T. - Extra Terrestrial to cellphones.

Probably millions! or billions, even!

This was briefly attempted during the Jimmy Carter “Family Hour” experiment of the late 1970’s.

The result was Bo and Luke Duke blowing up buildings with bundles of dynamite strapped to arrows shot from high-powered crossbows.

I must agree. The best movies I watch (granted...older genre) have little "blow everything to hell" scenes. I like movies that have good acting and a plot/storyline. Not just explosions and gunfire.

What a pathetic site. Since it’s a .org, I’m going to guess it’s funded by the tobacco settlement.

Smoking isn’t banned from TV shows or movies. There was a push by some group to make any movie with smoking automatically R, but it never gained traction. There’s a lot less smoking in them now, but that’s really a function of society, where there is also a lot less smoking.

Maybe in the states, and Europe.

But worldwide, I'm pretty sure the numbers are record breaking!
