In a rational world, the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray wouldn’t exist. The very idea of launching a two-seat sports car named after a World War II ship powered by a truck-sized V-8 goes against every trend line on every chart in every automaker’s boardroom. Yet here it is, the seventh generation of America’s most venerated sports car, sharpened in all dimensions by racing experience toward out-hustling the best sports cars in the world. The question will be whether it can outrun history.

Like others have said, it looks to me more like something from Japan than a Corvette.

It’s got “Michelle Obama” disease in the back.

I had a 2005 C6, which actually was a very good car...but sold it after the Obamadork Clown show entered the picture.

Won’t even think about the new one though...it appears that Bangle has transferred from BMW to Gubmit Motors.

And it’ll probably be half the price of the base Corvette, even loaded for bear.

The last few years corvettes have looked good, but I dunno about the 2014. Just not feeling it.

Does obamamotors still build them in Bowling Green?

Those ultra-low profile tires do two things: they provide enough room for the huge brake discs without being cartoonishly large, and their sidewalls are so small that the tires flex very little under side loads, giving better handling.

Sports cars have legitimate reasons for using ultra-low-profile tires, unlike those ridiculous hip-hop disasters you mention.

That Stingray Concept Car from a few years back was a nice design. Should have gone with that.
