Thanks for posting! My sister is special needs and my nephew is a just-commissioned Marine Officer stationed at Quantico. I just sent this to my other sister who lives near Wash DC.

My son officially retired on the 31st after 13 years of service. I loved to see him in his dress blues! Nothing better! but I also just love seeing him in his khakis or shorts or anything. He is MY son and I love him to the end of time and am oh so proud of him!

I have no idea about now, but in the mid-sixties when I was “in”, with very few exceptions you had to purchase (and they weren’t cheap) Blues if you wanted ‘em for any reason.

Marine Dress Blues are worn for special occasions or various ceremonies or as this Marine is doing here. My brother got married wearing his.
