Anyone see "Blue Bloods" last night? Vanity

Posted on 01/05/2013 4:31:08 PM PST by Dartman

I'm not going to spoil the story for anyone who has PVR'd or taped it for later viewing, but I think last night's episode was maybe a first. It involved a sniper who was picking off random drivers in NYC. Turns out the shooter is an extreme LEFT-wing environmental wacko, and the detectives basically come right out and call him that. Wow. I thought the only "extreme" people were right-wing. /s

Gotta love anything with Tom Selleck in it.

I never miss an episode of Blue Bloods.

God, family, wholesome values, liberty, justice and respect for one another.

Other than NFL football, the only time I watch CBS is to watch Blue Bloods. Great show.

This has been one of the only tolerable shows in the mainstream media.

CSI NY is pretty good too; has had some Roman Catholic themes as well.

Not to mention that they actually said a prayer in the episode. Refreshing.

Frankly, I think the left-wing wackos in Hollywood (and elsewhere) would do themselves a great service by occasionally showcasing an extreme far-out left nutcase, just so they can say, “You see, we’re just average people. That’s what an extremist is.”

Blue Bloods does much that is interesting.

The show treats the Catholic Church with a great deal of respect.

Feds tend to be bad guys or unhelpful, at best.

I don't know if it's all Selleck, but I suspect he has influence. I've seen few of those shows that were disappointing.

I would like to see them do some more court cases, featuring Bridget Moynahan, with the usual script twists. They have done a few of those that were quite watchable.

Little boy was hit by another cyclist, fell and struck his head on pavement.

Don’t forget Selleck disobeying the high-mighty black mayor and being right after all.

In all other shows, Selleck would be the bad guy and the high-mighty affirmative action black man would be the hero.

Yup. I have 5 seasons of Magnum PI given to me years ago, and close-by where Donald Bellisario has a production office. Selleck is a known gun advocate, even on set, and it’s not a coincidence the family is known as Reagan.

The CSI NY producers invited Rush Limbaugh on set to visit, as Gary Sinise is a closet fan. Only 1 of the cast refused to have a pic taken with Rush and it’s the black dude of the cast, a lib.

I quit watching when Walhberg's 'loose cannon' character flagrantly disobeyed suspension orders from his father-commissioner (Selleck's character) and went after some miscreant (the show was already on probation with me). He ended up getting the bad guy and dad and the city were so pleased that his (Wahlberg) suspension was lifted.

So, direct insubordination carries no punishment because everything turned out alright.

I wonder if Selleck had any moral difficulty with that episode.
