I can only recall one sunburn, and that was when I was 16, and spent the last day of school at a resort north of Salt Lake City called “Lagoon.” I rode the roller coaster and swam most of the day, but it would seem only my back was burned.
Cool baking soda bath for me that night. LOL! That was the one and only time I got a sunburn.
I got Dad’s skin ... I’ve had some whopper sunburns. I’m very careful now. When I worked at Cub Scouts day camp two summers ago, I wore long pants, a long-sleeve shirt under my short-sleeve Official Camp Shirt, suncreen, and a big straw hat.
And I didn’t die from the heat, either, suggesting that the “need” for shorts and tank tops in summer is largely social.
Speaking of clothes and shamelessly bragging, I’ll be going to church in about half an hour in a full set of garments Elen wore when she was 12. (Back when she wasn’t a lot taller than I am ;-).
