The Socialist Mind Game: A Brief Manual
American Thinker ^ | January 1, 2013 | Oleg Atbashian

Posted on 01/01/2013 3:46:29 PM PST by MtnClimber

We are being played; it's time we learned the game.

Conservatives have their Constitution. Progressives have their Narrative. The current battle for America is between these two concepts, and each side uses different rules to fight it.

One set of rules is consistent with an unchanging objective: limited government and individual freedoms. The other side's rules are as fickle as their goals, which are never fully disclosed beyond the equivocal references to fairness and hyphenated forms of justice. They will have to remain vague and deny their true allegiances until a time when American voters will no longer squirm at the word "socialism."

And yet spotting them isn't that hard. As a bird is known by his feathers, socialists are known by their Game.

First tried and mastered in the USSR, the Game has since been popularized around the world, assuming various forms, names, and colors -- from red to brown to green. It is now taking hold in the United States under the blue web banners of Obama's campaign infomercials.

The laws of society and human nature are such that socialism can only be achieved through a certain sequence of steps and manipulations.

From Stephanie Cutter's NEw Year's message to followers:

Right now, President Obama is asking you to think about what $2,000 a year means to you and your family -- because Congress needs to hear it.
The Senate has passed a bill that stops taxes from going up for 98 percent of American families, and asks those who can afford it to pay a little more. If the House follows suit, President Obama is ready to sign it as soon as it hits his desk.
If they fail to do so, a typical middle-class family of four will see their taxes go up by $2,000 in just a few short weeks."

~~~~~~What they are saying is that the Bush tax cuts are keeping everyone from paying $2,000 more in taxes. But, they are spinning it to say Obama is saving us.
a time when American voters will no longer squirm at the word "socialism."
They will no longer squirm when they accept the Marxist doctrine of inequality and exploitation which states that there is a moral equivalence between masters and slaves and lords and serfs, verses businessmen and wage earners.Marx considered workers to be "wage slaves" who are exploited by capitalists.They will accept and believe the idea that mankind's only salvation from the conditions of exploitation and class conflict is socialism which will elevate mankind into a new world of peace, harmony and equality.
“If you tell them that there is no such thing as a pain-free life, they’ll think you are some sadistic fascist who thrives on pain and takes pleasure in hurting people.
The problem with that attitude is that pain is nature’s way to warn us of danger. If it burns, don’t touch it. If it hurts, don’t repeat it. People who are born without an ability to feel pain are incapable of learning safe behaviors and are doomed to live a short life of bumps, burns, broken bones, and worse. A pain-free society would be even less viable.
The real choice, therefore, is between the occasional sharp pain of individual effort and the dull, permanent pain of collective misfortune, since redistributive economies always end in misery, shortages, and corruption. Western Europe’s gradual introduction of socialism is directly proportional to its gradual economic and moral decline, as evidenced by violent riots in response to inevitable austerity measures.
In the U.S., the pain-free life will be even shorter if the country falls off a cliff.
When the painkillers become useless, The Game remedies it by directing the massive anger toward the opposition.”
Barry was against the Bush tax rates before he was for them.
I forwarded the link to a number of people today, as it is written in a way that they will understand what is being said. One of the better examples of the genre.
And where is the Republican counter response explaining what actually will happen as a result?
Does the RNC have a clue yet?
I've heard Limbaugh and others say that one of obama's goals is to put a stake in the republican party and put it out of his misery.
I like that idea, if it kills off the GOP and what rises from the ashes does so with attitude and takes it to him and his agenda. Sweet justice that would be!
Speaking of Limbaugh...I wish he could somehow again become the teacher/political analyst he once was. There are very, very few currently being heard in any forum or elected to GovCo who can explain and teach.
We are woefully misundereducated and indoctrinated and no one offers any counter to the One Stream Media chorus, including Limbaugh and Hannity. Too fat and happy and they've lost the edge or they've been muted.
New blood and new talent is needed.
I think I will forward it as well. I am not sure that many liberals can be reached though. I often find myself thinking that there is really such a thing as selling their soul to satan.
Mark Levin has been putting on a clinic since the election. He has taken apart the misdirected Romney campaign and spelled out what conservatives must do to have a chance at bringing conservatism back to life in America. Click here to find the December archives.
The only people who believe that socialism works are college students. Even the college professors don’t believe it. The college students believe it because they have no experience with the real world. Mao didn’t believe it. Castro doesn’t believe it. Stalin didn’t believe it. Socialism is a con. It goes directly against THE LAW OF EFFECT. You generally get more of the behavior you reward and less of the behavior you punish. If you punish hard workers with excessive taxes, there will be less hard workers. If you reward people for doing nothing, you will have more people doing nothing.
Building up and maintaining such an illusion on a massive scale requires participation of the media, education, and entertainment industries in a coordinated, long-term propaganda campaign.
I insist on clarifying!! What is the difference between “the media“ and "the . . . entertainment industries?” They are the same, except that “the media” includes journalism.
In fact, we would have but little trouble with the entertainment industry and even with academia if journalism made any serious effort at objectivity. But of course, a serious effort at objectivity would start with an admission that objectivity is no easier for journalists than it is for anyone else - and that would limit claims about objectivity to humble pledges to try to be objective. Outright claims of actual objectivity - or even membership in organizations which claim objectivity for journalists - would be ruled out. Since we know that journalists aren’t going to drop claims of superior objectivity, and they certainly aren’t going to abandon membership in the Associated Press which claims its membership is objective, there is no prospect that journalism will voluntarily make systematic and serious efforts at objectivity any time soon.
With its egregious cramming of George Zimmerman’s innocuous speech into a racist template, NBC has opened itself up to what I hope will be a serious legal counterattack in civil court. IMHO the Associated Press, constituting as it does an essential monopoly of “mainstream media,” should be sued to within an inch of its life - plus about six inches.
