Why has no single reporter stated the obvious? Who's signature is on the law forcing the fiscal cliff? For some reason I think it's Barack Obama. I don't think he can write a Presidential Finding for this. Why have the Repubs given him this for so long and why didn't they hit him with this when he was slamming conservatives? Are we really this dumb??

What you are describing is the exportation of an Illinois concept known as The Combine into the national political fabric. Protection of power is the only goal, service to the citizens is last on the list. The D speaker of the IL House is the father of the AG - no law will be challenged that was passed by Daddy - and there have been some doozies on abuse of public pensions. The Speaker of the House makes money from Ds and Rs fighting property tax, mostly in Crook County. No one in ILL-ANNOY gets into office without the blessing of the Speaker of the House. For the most part, local media either acknowledges it and laughs along with the rest of us, or find nothing wrong at all. You are all ILL-ANNOY-ANS now.
