Obama's upcoming dishonor of General Norman Schwarzkopf (vanity)
me | 12/28/12 | me

Posted on 12/28/2012 4:42:03 AM PST by lump in the melting pot

Yesterday we lost a true American giant, Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf. Today, I'm starting a betting pool on how many times obama uses the words "I" "me" or "my" in his eulogy to the General. As was noted in the Weekly Standard, Zero used "I","me" or "my" a total of 63 times in a 1,600-word eulogy to the late Medal of Honor recipient and Senator, Daniel Inouye, to whom he referred as "Danny" in the speech. I will donate $50 to FR in the name of the freeper who posts the closest numeric guess, prior to publication of Dear Reader's failure to properly honor a true American. Bonus: if Il Douche calls the General "Norm", I'll donate $50 to the NRA also. I won't have the stomach to read Obi won Nairobi's telepromptered spew, so any respected news site or blog's word count afterwards will suffice.

Fregards, lump

Do you really think that he’ll bother to say anything? If he does, I’ll guess 27 because it will be a very short speech.

my guess is 40

I wonder if there isn't a fair-to-midline chance that Zero won't be invited a-tall...??

Gen. Schwarzkopf’s family publicly dis-inviting bummer to the funeral would make a great start to 2013. I suspect they are too classy to do something like that, though.

I’m down for 0 for Zer0 also. Doubt he’ll attend.

I'm figuring on him calling the General "Stormin Normie". As to Obama's self-references:

I can hear Barry already. “We need to pass a tax cut on ‘the rich’ in honor of General Schwarzkopf.” The boy is sick.

So, you only expect him to speak for about 5 minutes?

I imagine Obama could pack many I’s and me’s in there as he liked, if they were put in context, such as:

“I know nothing about honor or heroism, like he did.”

I’ll match your $50 donation in the FReeper’s name that comes the closest.

I sm sure they will be classy-- but if Zero "ain't invited" -- it would be without class....
--spelled c-r-a-s-s...
... to "invite himself"--especially to give a eulogy.

I know many if not most-- have instructions /wishes for their funeral services and memorial enfolded in their Will.

Perhaps "Stormin' Norman" left a little easter egg in his testament for the muzzie-in-chief.

We'll see.... in any case.

Happy New Year

I’m guessing he doesn’t go to the funeral...but puts himself in a position to be asked about it on some late night television show. He will give a brief three sentence answer, in which he refers to himself 4 times.

Back during Gulf I he was chooming and bathing. I wonder what analogy he will come up with to denigrate the General.

Well it's not a given that Obama will give any eulogy at the General’s funeral and my guess is that the family will opt to have a private service much like Neil Armstrong's did and avoid all of the D.C. hypocritical pomp. And I hope this is the case.

I just wonder if Bush43 will attend in place of his ailing father, who was Schwartzkopf’s CinC. Also Cheney.
They ran a great team.

Except Powell who was JCS - he can go bugger himself

When we look back at the original Gulf War in 1990 exactly what was accomplished?
Just think of all the propaganda imposed on this country to justify going to war because Iraq invaded Kuwait.
Remember the tag line "Saving the world for democracy", or something like that and Kuwait certainly was not a Democracy under any circumstances. The real basis for going to war was to save Saudi Arabia from being invaded by Iraq and their oil fields from being taken over by Saddam.
Now given what we know now would really have been a bad thing? Saudi Arabia is the biggest financier or world wide terrorism and either directly or indirectly helped fund bin Laden and 9-11. Read Anthony Summers book, “The Eleventh Day: The Full Story of 9/11”, on this very interesting details not fully made public.
Perhaps if we had let Iraq take out Saudi Arabia a number of problems would have been solved not that a lot of new ones would have been created.
A lot of food for thought.

Put me in for 45.

And I want to guess on how many times he'll refer to the 'common people' out here in the hinterlands as 'folks.' And he'll use his pseudo-Southern good old boy imitation twang to say it.

I will not listen either. Have to preserve what's left of my sanity.
