Mother-of-two Jacintha Saldanha was found dead near the King Edward VII hospital in central London By Reuters Published
A nurse who answered a prank call at the London hospital that was treating Prince William's pregnant wife Kate for morning sickness has been found dead, the hospital said on Friday, in a suspected suicide.
The death comes days after the King Edward VII hospital apologized for being duped by an Australian radio station and relaying details about Kate's condition which made headlines around the globe.
"It is with very deep sadness that we confirm the tragic death of a member of our nursing staff, Jacintha Saldanha," John Lofthouse, the King Edward's chief executive told reporters outside the central London hospital.
"We can confirm that Jacintha was recently the victim of a hoax call to the hospital. The hospital had been supporting her throughout this difficult time."
Police said they had been called at 9:35 a.m. (4:35 a.m. EDT) about a woman found unconscious at an address near the hospital. The woman was pronounced dead after ambulance staff arrived.
Police said the death was being treated as unexplained but they we're not looking for anyone else, indicating the nurse had taken her own life.
William and Kate, who left the hospital on Thursday, said they were "deeply saddened" by the death of the nurse, who was married with two children.

Figures.
You just can’t find dedication like that.
Lots of locals rolling in the gutter drunk though.
What a weird turn in a story that simply involved a “phoney phone call.” This was something that in my childhood years Steve Allen did on a regular basis on his tv show. Prince Charles had even made several jokes about it.
Was this girl hassled too much after the joke? Did her family not protect her? Lots of questions here and I refuse to blame two disc jockeys in Australia.
Little Tommy Lantosssssss (RAT-CA) would be so proud of this nurse if he hadn’t already assumed room temperature.
Maybe it was just a plain old “suicide” of the type where the people to commit suicide shoot themselves repeatedly in the head and chest multiple times after shooting through their own brain stem...
You know because she was so depressed over releasing royal family information...
Call me a conspiracy kook, but the royal families are damned scary if you cross them, they as they say in Britain “get quite cross”...
I know the royal family can be hardcore and my first thought was that they were carrying on behind the scenes about this silly situation. I just don’t believe they killed her.
YES the DJ’s have criminal and civil exposure.
While some here have the skill of walking on water, the actual law confirms the liability.

This appeal involved a straightforward application of the thin skull rule. The pre-existing disposition may have aggravated the injuries, but the defendant must take the plaintiff as he finds him. If the defendants negligence exacerbated the existing condition and caused it to manifest in a disc herniation, then the defendant is a cause of the disc herniation and is fully liable.
Schmude v. Tricam Indus., 556 F.3d 624, 628 (7th Cir. Wis. 2009)If a tortfeasor inflicts a graver loss on his victim than one would have expected because the victim had some pre-existing vulnerability, that is the tortfeasors bad luck; you take your victim as you find him.
That was my first thought yesterday also.
Do we know HOW she died??
Hate to be a cynic (sp)...but drug overdose?? With all the publicity, were they going to discover that she was stealing drugs from the hospital? She was only there 4 years. Where was she before??
I just think there's much more to this.
Oh. well, we all know what great judgment Prince Charles has. Guess that makes it OK.
In this case, Prince Charles was spot on.
Prince Albert is the one who really knows practical jokes.
