I heard that Austin Hill will be back next Monday after we were told that Chris Plante would return on Monday in the middle of the week.
Has Chris Plante been fired from WMAL, or is this more of a personal reason?
WMAL ping. Is this a Fairness Doctrine issue since Savage will be on Monday?
I just caught the final 10mins of the show, and heard AH make the announcement that he’d be in on Monday, for CP.
Health issues, politics, unemployment/new employment, pp-match? Google turns-up some speculation, but nothing from CP or WMAL. Hells bells, what IS going on?
Did you hear AH agree with the retired teacher that failing students are a result of uncaring parents? Sounds a like an Obama talking point. Personal responsibility is a tired, racist, white-guy way of life.
WMAL must be in for a format change.
Grandy and Andy gone. Mary Katherine Hamm gone. Brian Nehman gone. Chris Plante must be next.

I’m listening to a podcast now - AH is on. If Chris goes, then I’m done with WMAL. I download his podcast every day. Can’t listen on the computer at work.
AH is a mushy moderate. I washed my hands of him about three years ago when I heard him attack Sarah Palin on the air.
Just checked Chris’ Facebook page and he’s still there, posting. So my guess is that he just took an extra day or so with his family in Chicago.
I was wondering the same thing. I thought when Chris said he would be subbing for the ex Governor of Arkansas, (can’t think of his name) that he’d only be gone one day. It has been boring having him gone. When I heard he wasn’t going to be in on Monday either, I was not happy.
If he goes there is know longer any reason to listen to WMAL.
Plante was away for Thanksgiving in Chicago with family, came back on Monday, 11/26 and went on-air. His Technical Director (and/or his Producer - don’t recall which) and a caller mentioned he was repeating himself, which was noticed by other fans as well. He repeated himself a lot, which is most unusual for the Planteman. The repetition might have been signs of some serious problem, which we hope he does not have.
I’ll get back to everyone as soon as I hear something.
Savage starts at 9pm through 11pm on Monday, Dec. 3rd on WMAL and is not scheduled to interfere with Plante’s show.
It could just be a schedule change.
WMAL and WABC just picked up Micheal Savage.

Well, I know what I won’t be doing between 9 pm and 11 pm. Can’t stand Savage. Let us know if you here about Chris. He is the best and he makes me laugh.

I would assume health problems also, but Monday’s podcast was pulled sometime after I downloaded it. Apparently, it was posted for only a short time before it was removed.
I listened to the podcast again last night and made the following comments on the Levin thread during a discussion of Plante:

Except for first 35 min, which I commented about in last post [post 76], he was fine. Not his best show, but other than first 35 min, witty and OK.
At 1hr:28
He says to caller, “I am a little scatter-brained today.”
Caller: “You are repeating yourself a little bit.”
Chris: “Am I?”
Later on, 1hr 38, he said, “I gotta admit that I am a little spacy today. I’m a little off today. I don’t know why. A few days off; lost my usual razor-sharp edge.”
I only noticed repeating himself in first 35 min and gave 2 reasons for why I thought that might be in the last post [see post 76].
He played the Jamie Foxx-— “and our Lord and Savior, Barack Obama”-— about 6-7 times. Did about 5 min on Obama’s cult following.
When he was a no-show for Huckabee and then on his own program, I just assumed he was sick-— virus, flu, etc -— not uncommon after Thanksgiving (said he went to Chicago).
I hope that’s all it is, but I am hard-pressed to figure out why this podcast was pulled.
Austin said CP will be back soon.
I’m going with a sickness of some kind, possibly a mini stroke since he was so disoriented on Monday repeating himself. I think that’s why they pulled Monday’s podcast.

Then I wasn’t imagining things when I heard the multiple repeats of Foxx proclaiming his savior. Yes, he seemed a bit off his game, but I was also listening intermittanly, thus not really sure.

That is my take, as well. I’ve been worried sick about him for the past few days and pray he’ll be ok with some rest and proper medical care.
Wouldn't surprise me in the least.
CP was one of the major reason I advertised my company on WMAL this year. He’d been not be gone...again!

Ingraham Seeks WTNT Radio Lifeline

DCRTV hears that DC-based political talker Laura Ingraham (right) could soon return to the airwaves via a brokered deal with DC area talker WTNT, 730 AM/102.9 FM. Ingraham, who had been heard until early this week on WTNT, recently announced that she’s leaving her syndicator, TRN.
But, we’re told, she does not yet have another national radio distribution deal set up. Sources tell us that she’s been talking to Clear Channel’s Premiere and Cumulus.
That leaves her with the short-term possibility of buying time from WTNT and doing her show from its Fairfax studios, allowing her to at least be heard in the National Capital market. Ingraham could show up in the late morning slot at Metro Radio’s WTNT as soon as mid-December, we’re told.
