Post-US world born in Phnom Penh
Asia Times Online ^ | November 27, 2012 | David Goldman

It is symptomatic of the national condition of the United States that the worst humiliation ever suffered by it as a nation, and by a US president personally, passed almost without comment last week. I refer to the November 20 announcement at a summit meeting in Phnom Penh that 15 Asian nations, comprising half the world's population, would form a Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership excluding the United States.

President Barack Obama attended the summit to sell a US-based Trans-Pacific Partnership excluding China. He didn't. The American led-partnership became a party to which no-one came.

Instead, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, plus China, India, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand, will form a club and leave out the United States. As 3 billion Asians become prosperous, interest fades in the prospective contribution of 300 million Americans - especially when those Americans decline to take risks on new technologies. America's great economic strength, namely its capacity to innovate, exists mainly in memory four years after the 2008 economic crisis.

I hadn't heard this.

The US news media collectively arent fit to be referred to as news media anymore. They are without a single shred of independence and are exclusively state owned.

In a decade of news increasingly bad for freedom in this country the decline of the news media is the most chilling.

Gosh, you mean that Barry got himself disinvited?

And he didn't get a chance to apologize, bow or grovel?

That “Asian Pivot” is really working out for Barry.

In four years Barry has gone from being an international embarrassment to an irrelevance.

In Cambodia, he even got the servant's greeting.

“In four years Barry has gone from being an international embarrassment to an irrelevance.”

Correction: In four years the United States has gone from being an international embarrassment to an irrelevance.

Another instance where we can’t be sure whether Hussein is tanking the USA on purpose.

Well, I think that’s right, but all (or at least a huge chunk) of the blame lies with Alinksy-the-Clown in the Oval Office.

Asia already learned something from their sorry experience with Communism. They don't need a big member country which just re-elected a sorry assed president who refuses to learn that same lesson.

would form a Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership excluding the United States.

They could just call it, 'The Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere."

Count me among those who have no doubt that buhrock is tanking the US on purpose.

What I did doubt was the fact that 51% of Americans, from bottom to top, also have a death wish for the USA, right along side buhrock.

Public schools have won, at last. Not a finger has been lifted to stop Marxist education, change it, or slow it down.

Now doubt our president is sucked up into his mind - I wish he’d stay there.
