"What kind of person approaches a buck??" They're not bulls. They are actually a bit tame. They are in the yard most days. I've have them sleeping on the porch and in the yard. My dogs love them, they want to play. Here's a few from just this morning.

That is a nice buck. I am surprised no else around has got him yet. Too residential although that doesn’t stop anyone around here?

Is that a doe in your yard? Beautiful.

They’re beautiful to look at but I keep my distance from all of them, even the little ones.

I don’t worry about the little ones attacking but it’s not in the fawn’s interest to come close to humans. Sooner or later they’ll meet up with a hunter.

The bigger ones are a different story. Very unpredictable, especially if they’re protecting their young or if it’s mating season. And then there’s the problem of ticks. They’re beautiful though.

I can’t make it out but nice rack...a mulie no?

they are a bit less wary and aggressive than the proverbial whitetail

but yes...if not under hunting pressure year after year they will go wherever they want for food

when i lived in town they were more tame

out here in semi country...not so much

I hunt them...whiteys under hunter threat are extremely wary

not like garden deer
