N. Korea: Security around Kim tightened, while he is on tour.

A guard in helmet carrying an assault rifle is seen in the background(circled in the photo.) Previously, an armed security guard had not been seen in the photo of his on-site tours as well as Kim Jong-il's. N. Korea recently conducted mass firing (purge) of high-ranking generals. Many top-ranking generals are either demoted or under house arrest (one-time top military man, Lee Yong-ho.) Besides, Kim Jong-eun took away military's lucrative hard currency earning enterprises. He must be mindful of backlash. His life expectancy is shrinking.

What the heck is the soldier with the notepad always writing about? He’s in a lot of photos.
“Dear Diary: today the great leader looked at me and smiled in his special way. I knew he was thinking about our night of passion last night. Will he propose? All the other girls would be so jealous. Have to go now. He needs me to show him how to use a spoon....again.”

He has 3 generations of their families in cages.
To: RitchieAprile
Good question, I wonder if he really really trusts them? I guess they know their entire families for 3 generations lives' are at stake if they look at Dear Leader wrong.

The guy circled in the photo is Joe. He’s always crashing photos. You can’t see it in the photo, but I bet he’s flipping the bird to the camera. That crazy Joe. What a knucklehead.

He’s the guy who writes down the names of people that Kim makes the “kill him later” gesture towards.

You see this in almost every photo of Jong-un. I wonder if these guys get together later to compare their notes to see if they all got the same “to-do” list from him but I doubt these guys are going to dispute Jong-un if he says he did or did not say or order something to be done. Actually, this is common in military units but here it is so obvious.

He might be taking down lunch orders.
“OK, I’ve got a Big Mac with fries and a Coke.....a Quarter pounder with cheese and two apple pies......twenty seven orders of fries and a small Diet Coke......a Whopper?......who’s the funny guy?......Bob?......just for that you get a salad.”

It would be so easily, relatively speaking, to flip one of these guys and pay him off and, if it made geopolitical sense, do the deed.

TLR, AIT over here.
Say, have they got Kim Jong Eun lapel badges out yet? Have you heard?
I was also wondering if they are displaying is photo in large measure in buildings everywhere with dad and grand dad yet. I would imagine they would wait one full year (of mourning) from Kim Jong il Chia Head kicking the bucket before doing that, right? I recall we debated what the order would be on how they would display the dynastic photos, three of them, up simultaneously in the DPRK.

Haven't heard about his own lapel pin yet. Putting Kim Il-sung and Kim Jong-il together is OK. You can quibble about which of the two should be on the right, but it can be acceptable that late leader and the reigning leader can be placed side by side. On the other hand, if the trio of grandfather, father, and son are to be shown simultaneously, which one will occupy the center? The current ruler is Jong-eun, so you can argue that he should occupy the center, but Kim Il-sung is an Eternal President. He cannot be sidelined according to N. Korean dynastic cult. Should Chia Head be sidelined? The trio arrangement is nearly impossible to settle. That alone should be a reason enough for NK dynastic regime to be terminated, saving the agony of portrait arrangement. LOL

It only takes one well-placed person willing to die to topple a dictatorial regime focused on a personality cult.
Unfortunately, suicide bombers don't seem to be in fashion in North Korea. Where are the Muslim jihadists when we could actually use one?

LAPEL PINS...
I would love to have a North Korean-style lapel pin with Obama and Frank Marshall Davis side by side.
