The Caving on Conservatism Begins..... [yes, another vanity]
11/16/12 | Self

We will never learn.

The very thing that lost us this election is the thing many pundits are now staking their strategy on for the future.

I'm hearing that Conservatives need to "tweak" their message - which in translation means to CAVE to the left to some degree. "Immigration" is a prime example. (Why is it now never called, even by conservatives, what is truly is anymore - ILLEGAL?!)

We will never be able to placate the Left and their hordes of parasitic slaves - EVER - no matter what we surrender to them. The ONLY thing we need to do it to show full loyalty to true conservatives and conservatism, which, despite the fake narrative that they are now an endangered species, still outnumbers the Marxists in this country. And by conservatism, I mean WHOLE conservatism.

Tweaking the message doesn’t mean caving. Just means getting more articulate leaders with more intelligent solutions.

Conservatives need to start their own party cause the Republican party will NEVER agree to conservatism.
They will forever back mamby pamby crap like Dole, McLame, Romney instead of a real conservative.
Let’s go along to get along cause we all be making money off this seems the mantra.

You’re right. I’m done with the Republican Party. I thought for over 2 decades I could change it to be more Conservative. I was wrong. The Republican Party insists on moving left. It is a failure. It has abandoned the ideals that made our nation great. I have now responded in kind. Until the Republican party can put forth true Conservative candidates and stand behind the Constitution, they will not have my support.

I don’t care what this party does anymore. I left it when Romney was thrust on us. The Republican Party is dead to me. I’m ready for a separate, truly conservative party.

As long as it supports American companies and American workers.

If so, bring it on.

Since the recent defeat, it seems there are two competing explanations:

1. The GOP needs to become more moderate, therefore less conservative, so as to not frighten away the mushy middle.

2. The GOP needs to become more conservative to provide an actual alternative, not just be low-grade liberals.

I must admit I’ve seen a lot of pontificating and opinionizing, but little data that show why one alternative or the other would have altered the results.

Obviously I prefer option 2, but then Romney got my vote anyway. That doesn’t mean a hard right candidate, who would also probably have gotten my vote, would have done any better with the general electorate.

I wonder if there is any actual data available on this issue.

The GOP-e are dead wrong about pandering to Hispanics, heard on the Laura Ingrham show a couple of days ago that immigration reform was the fourth thing on the list that was most important to Hispanics. Even if we gave them amnesty, there’s several other things on the list that they value more, they’re firing at the wrong target to begin with.

Trouble is, deep down, in their heart of hearts, Hispanics want what other officially-sanctioned aggrieved groups want: free stuff from da gummint. And it goes against the grain of conservative philosophy to take a position where free stuff is handed out for the purposes of political gain.

It “has to be tweaked” because, to many people, it’s unappealing. It’s unappealing because, although its history is one of sound principles, many who espouse it neglect those principles.

It’s unappealing for the same reason Ayn Rand’s philisophy is: No matter how it’s rationalized, self-centeredness is just plain ugly.

We might say that Leftism is a philosophy directed at chopping down the tree of liberty and thereby robbing us of its fruit (prosperity). Conservatism, then, has a two-fold response: First, don’t chop down the tree, which was planted by previous generations. And second, let us pick the fruit.

All well and good. Except that we’re driven not by the same principles which inspired our forebears. We’re not interested in tending and nurturing the liberty from which our prosperity springs, learning that public and private virtue are the source of its vitality.

No, we just want the fruit, and beyond that will go no further than to defend the decaying tree from the axe. Our motives are transparent, and “tweaking” can’t hide our Randian ugliness.

It’s interesting to see the self flagellation currently taking place in the Republican establishment over Romney. The WSJ editorial page this morning is beating up on Romney because he failed to make the case for the virtue of free market economics to Hispanics. Did they seriously believe that a rich guy talking about low capital gains taxes was going to register with an illegal blowing leaves for $5/hr? So the smart people blew themselves up again. Whatever. Life isn’t only about money. Maybe some day they’ll get it.

Tweaking the message means moving to the Left, even if it might still be right of center.

The direction of the move is what is critical, not its position on the spectrum.

Pandering to Hispanics is so utterly stupid, I can’t put it in words.

Anything less than full open borders with full benefits, driver licenses, citizen-like status, including preference “rights” (civil rights, so called) will be soundly rejected by the Left and their Hispanic subjects as they call us “racists.”

Yeah, from what else was on their list, it was a list of socialist favorites. Healthcare, education, etc. all free and paid for by the government.

They will never out socialist the socialists.

What most refuse to acknowledge is that it was unlikely that ANYBODY could have beaten the voter fraud planned and perpetrated by the Obama machine. They seem to prefer pointing fingers, blaming Romney and blathering on about Patraeus' sex life.

Col Allen West; "I don't want to see America become like Zimbabwe where people don’t trust their electoral process. If we cannot trust the integrity of the voting system then we are no longer a free republic".

Col West has opened the door.

We must fight election fraud.

It falls on ‘We the People’.

We are FReepers. We must fight!

I understand, but my question is, where and how do we fight? Two recent cases of outright, in-your-face, broad-daylight election theft by the 'Rats stand out in my mind, and our fight failed because we trusted the courts to dispassionately and justly decide the case on the merits. The most recent was the Norm Coleman-Al Franken Senate theft in MN. The other, less well known, was the first Dino Rossi-Christine Gregoire contest for Governor in WA state. In each case, evidence of outright fraud came to light and was presented in court, but the courts wouldn't touch it. The 'Pubs in those cases made the error of thinking that the courts would be fair to them and dispense justice based on facts and reason.

Both cases were appealed to the election machinery (Sec. of State). That resulted in more fraud. Recount after recount was done until enough votes were "found" to put the 'Rat in office.

So we couldn't fight in the courts because the courts were corrupt. We couldn't fight in the political realm because the election mechanisms were crooked. We couldn't go to the media because they laugh at us and call us sore losers. We can't go to the people because they just shrug and say "the election is over, what time is American Idol on?" I see your point about fighting, but what venue can we fight in and have a fair chance?
