He does sound like he’s throwing up his hands and almost given up on beating the liberals in the short-term. He’s now saying that the only hope we have is to try to recapture the educational system over time, which is probably true.

I am beginning to think myself that the goal of the educational system over the last 40 years is to make Communism acceptable to the youth of the U.S., and in part they have succeeded.

Listened to Hannity yesterday after Rush. Graham was on. Sounded pissed at Obama calling him out and STILL during the interview he said, "Sean, I'm 57. I can disagree with the President on Friday and work with him on Monday." That says everything I need to know about working with the current leaders of this Party any more. There is a reason they were out of Congressional control for 40 years.

I for one am holding my opinion of Petreaus until he testifies tomorrow. Or testifies in public.

He is an General who has been most honorable in his service.
No one changes their character overnight. Sorry, politics aside.

As an officer he has always carried out orders by those over him (BTW - officers do not take an oath to obey orders)

He carries out those orders by the CIC - the office not necessarily the person) whether he is CENTCOM or CIA director. He serves as they say “at the pleasure of the President) If he does not agree he can make his opinion known, but still carries out orders.

Every officer has what is called a “bet your bars (or stars)” moments. You had better be so right that the superior either takes your advice or takes you down.

I am wondering if Petreaus resigned when he did, because the affair was going to come out or if the only way he could testify to the truth was to do it as a civilian.

I don’t remember if he was under oath when he testified before.

I thank and admire Petraeus for his service. I am genuinely saddened to see him involved in such a disaster. I say a prayer for his wife too.

The educational system should definitely be a target, and that would take a good 40 years. But a quicker way (along with changing the educational system) would be to recapture the pop culture.

That was Andrew Breitbart's target, along with the media. He said it did no good to focus only on politics, and switching out politicians every 2, 4, or 6 years, if you don't affect the culture and media. As a listener to Rush for 20 years, it's always frustrated me that he rarely discusses the culture, except in passing and in a joking way. It's no wonder we have RINOs and such when all of pop culture is telling them to BE a RINO.

Maybe Rush needs to whinge a little bit longer than the rest of us! I hope he gets back on his feet again. There ARE things we can do. How many conservatives support conservative movies, books, art, etc.? We have got to start doing that.

Has anyone watched the Discovery Science Channel show "Build it Bigger" with Danny Forster? I happened to catch an episode today about the Littoral Combat Ship USS New Orleans. Something Danny said took me aback. He was on-board while the ship was conducting sea trials and he said there was someone from the State Department aboard who would decide if they were mission-capable or would have to go back for a major [and I think he said refit, but that doesn't seem right]. Well, knock me down with a feather. Might as well have someone from Dominos or Papa Johns deciding if our war ships are capable of delivering pizza.

FREEDOM is a hard sell because people want to be taken care of. Less people want to ‘work hard’. That is a bad phrase to most Americans. People don’t want to be independent or alone or responsible for themselves. That is also why alot of people need to get married....they don’t want to go through life on their own with no one to depend on.

I had this view back in 2008 and still have it. Logically, there are three solutions.

1) Keep around the tainted name of the Republican Party and reform the Party from within.

2) Abandon the tainted name of the Republican Party and grow another brand. The TEA Party has emerged but has also been tainted through false accusations. I guess any other Party would be tainted much like any candidate other than a Democratic candidate is slaughtered in the media.

3) Take over the Democratic Party.

This is where I always end up banging my head up against a wall. We have and probably always had an Enemy Within. Right now, that Enemy Within has control of the media, education and Government. They create the rules, they determine what is good and what is bad and the lemmings follow. Right now, the Enemy Within seems unstoppable. Republicans are painted as racist, sexist, homophobes. Conservatives are painted as racist, sexist, homophobes. The TEA Party was even painted as EVIL by REPUBLICANS! I would love for some real discussion on these points.

Please call your US Senators and House Representatives to demand a Select Committee be set up to investigate the 9/11 tragedy in Benghazi. A select committee will allow the testimonies of key witnesses to be heard by members of all the pertinent Congressional Committees at the same time. It’s the best way to ensure a speedy and accurate understanding of exactly what happened and will therefore produce the best recommendations on what should be done so that this never happens again. Otherwise, the intelligence gathered by individual committees meeting separately might not be shared among the other committees which could leave us in the dark once again.

If someone outside the MSM broke the true story about Benghazi, they'd put the MSM to shame (and that's how you slowly but surely destroy the leftist media). Breitbart.com, for example, does fantastic work -- but it gets little financial support from conservatives.

as far as I am concerned, there are hostages in the Petraeus affair. First, there is his pension, then Broadhurst is under active investigation, his wife’s employment with the gubermint, and there is a great big WTF regarding Kelley. If we take Petraeus’ “honor and integrity” at face value, would he play along with the administration in order to protect those close to him? Perhaps.
