As a big Trek fan, I am definitely looking forward to this. The reboot was very good.

I’m looking forward to seeing both films. Will overlook the vocal politicking of some of the Trek actors.

Apparently that isn’t a consensus shared between Star Trek fans.

I for one felt it shat on everything that Star Wars was about. As a stand-alone adventure movie, it had it strong points, but after destroying the universe, it’s kinda hard to give a crap about a few space nerds in a can. And the cinematography was mind-shatteringly bad.

Everyone should know better than to get excited about a J.J. Abrams production. His first Star Trek film was entirely forgettable, and his series finale for Lost retroactively marked the entire series as a 6-year meandering waste for which he should never be forgiven.

You get the Newt Gingrich prize for schlong-swellingly excellent use of adverbs!

You mean you didn't like staring into a shaking strobe light for an hour?

What? You don’t think a 19 year old could command an aircraft carrier, let alone a starship? Whats wrong with you?

You don’t need principles, or life experience, or learning from others. Just be a genius and do everything right at 19...”Babes in Space”!

I dont know....the fact that the actor who plays Spock came out as a fudgepacker and started crying in front of everyone how intolerant conservatives are, makes me want to keep my money.

“Everyone should know better than to get excited about a J.J. Abrams production.”

They’re close to us here in Hollywood, and we sometimes share the same stage lots. Spock came out of the closet as a fag a year ago, so I wont waste my time on this unless it’s available on bittorrent.

As far as Lost goes, you should know other people were responsible. He was basically just a name on the credits.

In "The Mote in God's Eye" (Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle) there is a good reason for using very young officers for starship command.

Looking forward to both movies. My late SO/longtime boyfriend David loved both movies. He passed away on September 10, 2012.

He did, I did not know?

I know there was another actor from the original Trek series that came out, forgot his name though.

Faux Trek.

True. It's not really Star Trek, merely an abomination with that labeling falsely applied. We know these characters far too well to accept the creations with their names loosely tacked onto them.
