Right now, it’s drizzling on Friday evening, November 9, and I’m seated in the packed sports pub just across from the massive cineplex, attempting to relax my mind by looking out the window at the ticket lines and at the teenyboppers, in hooded sweaters, staring at the poster mural of the final Twilight soap opera. I’m drinking a glass of Stolichnaya vodka as I try to grasp the rainfall of images that I remember from the movie just ended.
I have seen minarets in a Turkish skyline. I have seen decrepit buildings in London and crowded passageways of a bazaar in Istanbul. I have seen darkly lit rooms and old secret service officials striding in murky corridors.

Skyfall is an excellent Bond movie. A quantum advance over Quantum of Solace.

Hi CB, I’ll have to wait till it comes out with caption due to early hearing loss. Glad you enjoyed it. The ‘blond Bond’ guy doesn’t appeal to me, lol.
Bond never worked for MI6 in the novels because, despite what the fanboys say, Bond worked for the Ministry of Defence and MI6 is part of the Foreign Office, not MoD.
Babs and Mikey are little more than grave robbers who are constantly watering down the series with bad movie after bad movie. Casino Royale is only good because it came after “Die Another Day” and before “Quantum of Solace”.
Why do people think Silva was homosexual? I'm thinking very few were actually paying attention to the film. And, even if he was, how does that detract from his effectiveness as a villain? I thought the guy was pretty damned scary. Almost Joker-like (but not quite).
Mr Kidd and Mr Wint were gay according to Leiter in "Diamonds are Forever", Rosa Klebb was bisexual in "From Russia With Love"; Goldfinger was a sexual deviant who was impotent and constipated and Pussy Galore and Tilly Masterton were Lesbians in "Goldfinger", Francisco Scaramaga was rumored to have been gay in a report written for M in "The Man with the Golden Gun". This was carried over to "License to Kill" and can explain why Franz Sanchez hired Bond despite a possible risk to his operations.
James Bond is just a Franchise name like McDonalds or KFC s ,over the year the films have evolved to suit the era started with Roger Moore and the lets jump on the Star Wars fad hence Moonraker.
Casino Royale is the Bond version of Bourne and thats what the audience wants.If it’s a Bond movie it will be entertaining the majority of people who see Bond movies are the 20 somethings they have no idea who Ian Fleming or that their are books and probably could care less..
I dont know if this i true a few months back it 100th year of Titanic sinking twitter was covered in comments that film only came out a few years ago is this a typo..
I thought it was okay, but as with most Bond films since the Roger Moore days, runs longer than the storyline merits, and it feels it.
The sceen in the movie The Living Daylights that takes place in Bratislava was very flemingesque and contemporary, the short-story was written about 25 years before the movie. It can be done with the right group of people. Maibaum did it in TLD. Yes, the movie did not have Dalton-Bond wondering around reading a filthy euro novels but it still captured the intent of Fleming.
There was more Flemingesque quality in the first 20 minutes after the title sequence/pre-title sequnce in the TLD then there was in the first two Craig-Bond movie. It is a shame the writters strike sort of disrupted LTK.
Moore’s performance in in Moonraker was closer to Fleming-bond than Craig-Bond.
I'll never watch the movie the same way again.
