CAN HILLARY BE OUR PRESIDENT IN 2013?

A little question for everyone on Veteran's Day. Can Hillary Clinton be President of The United States in 2013? Here's a couple of clues. I'm not talking about an emergency situation like an assassination or accident. Look at President Gerald Ford and Vice President Nelson Rockefeller. Good luck! Extra points for being first and pointing out the correct amendment.

25th Amendment. You’re assuming (1) Biden resigns, (2) Obama appoints Hillary VP,and (3) Obama then resigns. Not very likely, but theoretically possible.

Hey my dad was a member of the Army Air Corps during WWII. He flew the hump but I don’t think as many missions as my brother said.

Correct. Of course, if Biden resigns, dies or becomes incapacitated, Obama can nominate anybody, or anybody who meets the eligibility requirements.

Of course, the nomination still has to make it thru a majority vote of both houses of Congress.

She could have to replace Biden as VP after Jan 20,

or she would have to remain SoS, hope Obama and Biden stepped down, and hope Boehner declined or stepped down, and the same with the Senate pro tempore.

As SoS, she is 4th in line:

VP,
Speaker of the House,
Senate pro tempore [currently Daniel Inouye (D-Hi)],
SoState,
SoTreasury,
SoDefense,
Attorney General, ...

Don't forget that Boner is in line also. If Obama is found not eligible to run and is removed would not Romney become pResident?

So ironic in many ways - I firmly believe that there is serious questions concerning Biden's mental capacity, and when the question of meeting eligibility requirements arises, of course there is doubt that 0bama meets them.

Sorry. I just think it’s interesting that with all this Benghazi/Petraeus stuff, she’s been quietly biding her time. I don’t ever trust a Clinton. They’re leg breakers.

I do agree with you on that. If Hillary sees an opportunity to promote Hillary, she’ll take it.

I recognized the irony when I wrote it.

In this process, as in the regular election process, there is no group or individual specifically charged with determining whether the candidate or nominee is qualified.

Not specifically covered by the Constitution. The most logical and constitutional approach would be to have Biden confirmed as VP by the Senate, and if the president-elect is unable to serve, for whatever reason, the VP succeeds to the presidency.

How can Mitt Romney become President of the United States in 2013?

Mitt gets elected Speaker of the House in Jan 2012, replacing Boehner. (Mark Levin said that it was possible.)

Both the BFN and Biden get impeached, or whatever.

Mitt takes the Oath of Office with an immediate surge in the stock market and the American business world.
